10 foot Brunswick Anniversary that was remachined to be slightly tougher than Diamond specs. Rails extended the correct way and perfect math all the way around.

Size: 10 foot table
Pocket size = 4.125 inches
Pocket angle >= 143.5 degrees
Shelf = 1.5 inches

TDF: 1.44

10 foot Brunswick Anniversary that was remachined to be slightly tougher than Diamond specs. Rails extended the correct way and perfect math all the way around.

Size: 10 foot table
Pocket size = 4.125 inches
Pocket angle >= 143.5 degrees
Shelf = 1.5 inches

Specs sound very similar to our 10-foot table. In my opinion, it would require a pro level player to be able to break and run 3 consecutive 9-ball racks or run 70 balls (5 racks) of 14.1 on that table! I can promise you that, particularly on a 10' table, 4.125" pockets play surprisingly tougher than 4.25" pockets which play significantly tougher than 4.5" pockets (Diamond specs). So to say your table plays just slightly tougher than Diamond specs is a HUGE understatement!

Its quite tough! I ran 3.5 racks of ten ball a couple days ago on it! With a measle ball too!

I'll be hiding, as well, RiverCity. Better tune up those kicks!

I agree. My pockets are 4.25 with a deeper shelf and my pockets are a lot tougher than the diamond standard 4.5. I have run 5 consecutive 9-Ball racks but playing on a tough table can be quite frustrating plus you are limited to how hard you can pocket balls shooting down the rail without rattling. You are also limited to how much you can cheat the pocket to play shape for your next shot. I am contemplating on modifying my pockets to 4.5 and bringing the shelf in to 1.5 so when I do play on a standard diamond i know my limitations as far as cheating the pocket or drilling the ball down the rail without rattling. There are pros & cons when practicing on tables that play tougher than the standard diamond.

So are your pockets on this 10-footer 4.25" or 4.125" at the mouth? You would be surprised, but once you get to that tight, that 1/8" tighter actually makes a big difference. We have two side by side 9-footers - one with 4.25" corners and the other with 4.125" corners. There is a very significant difference in how tough they play.

OK, apparently I was confusing two different individuals. Captive Bred has a 10-foot table with 4.125" pockets mouths, and you (Side Pocket) have a table with 4.25" pocket mouths? Is yours a 9-foot or 10-foot table? Thanks

2-1/4" shelf depth is a ridiculously deep shelf for a pocket that has been altered to 4-1/4" at the mouth! When it was originally at 5" at the mouth, that pocket must have been over 3" shelf depth!

Here's a mobile-friendly online tool (created by "Isaac") and an Excel spreadsheet for automatically calculating the TDF factor from three pocket measurements to determine the difficulty level of a table.

Measurements and data reported by AZB users for table difficulty factor (TDF), based on the table size factor (TSF), pocket size factor (PSF), pocket angle factor (PAF), and pocket shelf factor (PLF):

I've added your table to the list. Please send me your shelf measurement to add.

Thanks,

Doctor Dave, is there any sort of difficulty percentage that can be factored into the TDF. For example a table that is a 1.00 with broken in/worn cloth would play more difficult than a 1.02 table that has brand new cloth.
I was just wondering in your opinion, would it be a .01 or .02 or not make any difference with worn in cloth?
