Keep dreaming... Here is the ranking description straight from the GSBT facebook page:

Description
Amateur/Handicapped 9-ball events
4 ranks: AA, A, B, & C
AA: race to 11 - 10 on a bar box
A: Race to 9
B: Race to 7
C: Race to 6
Tournament rank is determined by tournament staff.
Format is Texas Express rules, rack your own, altenate the break, 9ball doesn't count in the bottom 2 pockets

All tournaments start at noon on Saturday with FREE practice and are 2 day events. Call Shannon Daulton for more info. 865-850-4572

Birriards, Rhea is correct, you are wrong.

I guess Shannon & Marge forgot to update Facebook. Here's a link to one of their tournament posts here on AZ. See where it says **NEW HANDICAP SYSTEM**?

I see where it says that there is a new handicap system, I don't see where it says that I'm wrong.

If the "old" system had C players at a 6, what would make you think that all of the sudden B players are 4's? Please, the 3s, 4s, and 5s in the new handicap system are C- and D players.

By new, it means that the lowest handicap is now 3, not 6, presumably to accomodate D players that enter these.

They changed it, a 3 is all players up to C+

Here is an example of three legitimate skill level 4's all of whom are between B- to B+ in the GSBT under the new rankings:

I lost money gambling with her in Raleigh at Brass Tap.

She beat me in an even race to 4 in Albermarle, she also played Gene in the U.S. Open and scored better on the 9 footer vs Gene than on the barbox.

Gene...Very sorry to hear about your Mom passing! Please be safe driving home. I'll be on the road today headed in the same direction. Lee Brett is also in the storm territory, just south of Kokomo IN, in Indianapolis. I'll be there Wed.

You are correct.

The point being that it is a "No Pros Allowed" event. Now we can argue who is and who is not a pro but what can not be argued is that it would be ASININE to have a ranking system that included "World Class Pro" when world class pros are barred from the event.

So the top end 11 is for AA and up (covering a broad range). 9's are A's and up (covering a broad range) etc... the new levels added below a 6 were added to open the field to attract lower level players below a solid C level.

C players weren't really winning at all on the GSBT and B's didn't fare a whole lot better. IMHO, they needed bigger spots against the A's and AA's in order to compete.

As with nearly everything else in this thread, you are a bit delusional and lacking the ability to properly clock players. Keep dreaming.
