This is the cue I got from Thierry Layani at the US Open last year. It was used by Danny Hewitt in the Open.

And of course, the most unique part of a Layani cue: the joint.

Sweet cue Mike. That is definitely an odd joint. Is it standard on all Layani cues?

Yes, that is a standard Layani joint. The joint pictured is actually on a predator shaft that Thierry put the joint on.

You can see more about the joint at layanicues.com. I know Thierry is a user here on the board. Maybe he can enlighten us about how he came up with the idea.

I must try one of his cues sometime.. I've heard some great things about his cues...

All set for the US Open ?

I got here by clickin on AZHousePro's signature -
old thread but very interesting! And I kid you not!

It's my first time to see a Layani cue and was wondering
about the joint and all.
