I may be heading to Detroit on business maybe in Sept, what would be a good pool hall or 2 to visit? Hopefully in an area I don't need body armor in.

The saying in the 70s was “Don’t go south of Seven Mile Rd after dark.”

The Hall of Fame at 13 Mile and Mound is worth seeing

Haven’t been there for ages...I sure hope it’s alright.

Since China, Russia and Iran have helped Dearborn to thwart the international sanctions and acquire nuclear weapons, violent crime generally remains at an all time low. Trust me though, we’ve all got to keep our wits until this peace craze blows over…
I would just avoid those soft, concealable vests strong enough to resist bullets, but comfortable enough to wear 24-7. You want a specialist body vest, with ceramic plates to cover the heart and aorta. Make sure your 4x4 vehicle has the filters to protect against nuclear, chemical and biological contamination.
Play with a house cue.

Brownfield Farms? lol.. you know it.

Depends on what your looking for and where your going it's big city. Bubbles is right in the heart of the city and it's a real nice area. We hear about it all the time on the news.

Shoot, we used to roll south of 8 mile after dark on our hogs all the time.

Just never stopped for red lights.

Never.

You guys are making me re-think going on the trip LOL, company has two new locations opening in Michigan and they wanted some onsite support from home office during grand opening. Maybe I'll go outside after dark in the other area

Back in the late 90s, I was the night guy at the Bluebird motel between 8 and 9 mile on Telegraph.

We were a quaint little pay by the hour joint. Sister motel of the (SL)Easy Rest a bit up the road. We catered to all the local hookers, and the crackheads.

Shortly after I started working there, I was hanging out with the guys who "cleaned" the rooms on the weekends. We were sitting outside the laundry room, and a storm was brewing. Thunder and lightning, high winds. Was getting nastier than one of the rooms they just "cleaned".

I was getting concerned, so I asked them, "What should I do if the power goes out?"

Their reply? "Run to the office and lock the fooking door!"

I stopped going to the Hall of Fame a year ago due to the lack of table maintenance and general filthy conditions.

The bathrooms are something you would expect to see in a rural Mississippi gas station.

If you do go, I wouldn't eat anything from their kitchen based on the level of filth.

Oh hey, Michigan needs your business,

Fly into DTW and head on up 275 to Livonia and you'll find some nice safe hotels near bar Louie Livonia. That gets you fast access to the highways to everywhere, food and drink and a decent room.

Snookers pool hall is about 8 minutes down 96 right before Detroit. Snookers is very nice and always has had a table open when I've been there. They also have a couple of 3 cushion tables if you like that too.
