SVB vs Stevie Moore NOW

Black-Balled

Was that shot on the three ball SVB took in the second to last rack where he was on the hill? Did I miss something there or was there better options than blasting the balls almost off the table. Was he that confident he would run out the next game with the break to just give that one away to make it hill hill? It was this one:
View attachment 222905

Why not bounce the 3 ball off the head rail over behind the four and freeze the cue ball on the eight?

Do not question SVB's shot selection. If the Man wants to make the 3 jump another ball then let him...and put a hand in front of your nutzzzz, just in case.;)

with the way the balls were positioned, if you're ever going to take a stab at having the object ball jump another ball, that's probably it. In any event, it wasn't just blasting, he had a shot in mind. Would I have tried it? nope, but then I'm not SVB.

I know what he was trying to do but at that point in the match? He was a dry break away from letting it slip away with that move. But I'm just a banger, what do I know?

You make an excellent point!

We are just bangers compared to him...

I bet that if you had made that shot as many times as he has that you would have fired at it too!

Having Shane play on a bar table is like sending Ron Jeremy into an all-girls school. Where is the challenge?

I was watching a replay that means it's the first time replayed, I guess I don't understand what you mean by "maybe they didn't the first time"?

they didn't shake hands

I missed the end of the match, they really didint shake hands?

Thats a shame, they need to get over that drama that happened.

That is what you saw the heat of the moment and depression after the match. I saw things differently. Luckily I was there for every hour of the tournament, left at 2:12 am this morning, had to wait for Jesse to finish the championship match with Mark since he traveled with my and stayed with my parents. I sat with Stevie, Shane, Morra, Beckley, Addad, Little, Rory Hendrickson on Saturday night all joking and having fun. Stevie poked fun at Shane and Shane back. Everyone having a few drinks telling stories and laughing. I was amazing. If you ever get the chance to go, do it if you love pool. It is an intimate setting with full access to the players. I asked Stevie how he like the tournament and his reply was, "this people really love their pool it is amazing". He talked to me during the whole match as he played Edwin Montel. I looked over a few times, and there was Jeff Beckley coaching amateur players, not for a few minutes but for an hour and a half with one person. These are genuine people who love it when you come up to them and say thank you, I loved watching the stream of you win the banks, the US bar table championship, etc.

Jesse defeats Stevie in an awesome match after being down 3-0. What happens after the match? Steve spends 20 minutes and asks Jesse if he can spend some time with him in Vegas to help him with his stroke, and some other things. Truly amazing sportsmanship from professionals.

Shane gets beat out of the 8 ball by a friend of his, and local Bismarck, ND player. So what does Shane do for the next Day? He walks around talking to people, watches his mom play.

These are people that love the game. Are they passionate and hate to lose ,yes. There is money on the line. What more can you expect. I can tell you this, I am definitely going back next year again. I have never had so much fun at a pool tournament. I met a lot of new people.

I got to meet JoeyA from the forum, what a pleasure.

Thanks to everyone

tables

i noticed that too when shane played shape on the 9 in the second game, nice to see these guys playing on tables the average player like myself would be using lol

I agree. The equipment last year was horrible, and much better this year. Danny Olson and Jesse Engel both said the TV table rolled off in inconsistent ways. We are all hoping for Diamonds earlier.

Funny Story. I was sitting watching Rory Hendrickson, Pro at Fargo Billiards, and he plays a stun shot but the cue ball rolls forward and he is dead hooked on the 8. Rory loses the game and says Rob I am going to break this cue ball as he squeezes it in his hand. It is alternate break and his break. He hits the cue ball into the rack a shit flies. At first I think it is his tip and ferrule. The cueball scratches, at least part of it does. The pieces that flew were parts of the cueball. The only part of the cueball left on the table was a quarter sized piece.

This happened twice in the same day!

Please bring us diamonds and good, non-weighted cue balls next year.

One last thing, the tables I had a chance to play on played well, but I am just a banger. I never play on Valley Tables, don't care for them, but I love the Diamonds at Fargo Billiards.

i hope everyone had a good time and will come back.
a big thanks goes out to four bears casino and lodge (pat packineau, scott wilson ,spencer wilkinson) for their support and letting us have the tournament at the casino. without the casinos support we will not be able to have this tournament, they are the main money sponsor of the tourney. so if you are in the casino or can stop by or email them tell them what you think of the tournament. they just broke ground so the casino will have a new hotel and steak house for next years event, we would also like to thank ray hansen for the livestream all weekend.
we had alot of top players of the sport attend and alot of good advice and input on the tournament. each year we learn something new that will help improve the tournament and this year was no diffrent. their were alot great people that offered advice and support for next years tournament so we are already starting on the right foot for next year. a goal every year is to have a full field, good equipement and provide the best payouts for the players.
so thanks to everyone who attended and helped we fill the tournament was a success and we are looking forward to seeing you all again at next years tournament (22nd annual four bears 8ball classic)

I totally understand your position. You guys do an amazing job with this tournament. The equipment was definitely better this year. Keep up the good work.

Thanks.

Maybe Halliburton, or Hess can help you out with those tables.

I think you guys put on a GREAT tournament this year. Not that the other years were bad but you had a bunch of nail-bitter matches. This old guy on the rail had a lot of juices flowing during the matches. It was familiar of the excitement that was generated during the Mosconi Cup of a couple years ago.

I think the format and the tables seemed just fine. Someone posted earlier that here were the pros playing on the same tables that the majority of players play on. They had to overcome the same difficulties that the normal player contends with. You have proven that if the money is there, the players will come. If more players feel they have a chance, they will come.

I should also mention that it is good to see the exceptional players playing 8-ball on the Valley bar box. Like it or not, that is America's game.

From my view point, sitting in front of the computer watching Big Truck's PERFECT stream and commentary, I only have 2 comments that could be considered negative. Both are about the Eric Durbin vs Edwin Montal match.
Of course, my hindsight is perfect, so for what it's worth.
1) I know it's tough pulling out the unsportsmanship rule but I truly felt that it should have been done. His attitude and etiquette was a far cry from any resemblence of sportsmanship. I was actually rooting for him before the match began. One game into the match, I was rooting for Edwin against my money. I just think that if he was doing that stuff on this match, he had been doing it throughout the tournament and should have been called on it well before this match was played. Sometimes referees have to get involved even though not called to the table by the opponent. Yes, Edwin should have called him on it immediately, but one could see he just wanted to play pool and not have a confrontation of any kind with a real possible "loose cannon".
2) My only other thought is the confusion of the BCA (WPA rules) and the BCA Players League rules. I didn't see anything on the posters as to what rules were being played. That might be a good idea for the future. That BIH anywhere call is a big difference.

All in all, an absolute wonderful tournament, super stream and good commentary. Hopefully, next year I can get up there and play in it. Last time I played it was still the Kelly Demmary tournament, a friend and someone who played in my room in East Grand Forks.

Good Job and kudos to all involved!!!!

for sure the BIH, rules need to be posted and a ref is needed, the sportmanship issue will also be fixed, he was warned during that match with montel and seemed to calm down . we will fix that for sure, i didnt mean to come across negative or upset if i did. we got alot of good advise this weekend. and some who were negative. we try our best to provide all who attend a great experiance and a fun and fair tournament. we try to spead the money out so its not so top heavy and that more have a chance to cash in. 100 percent of the $$$ we raise or get is given back to the players, i dont think a lot of people know that the committee makes nothing, gets nothing, its all voulenteer work, we do it for the players and memories, where else in north dakota or surrounding area can you talk to,play and watch the worlds best. we are going to work hard this year on getting the best tables and better payouts. sponsors are always need maybe we can get a oil company involved also the casino started the new hotel and steak house so that will help with rooms.

The only problem I had was with the womens championship, did you have to call nicole to the table? Then when she finally showed up she went out had a cig came back and started hitting balls. Seemed like we sat there for at least a half hour after the match was called. I could tell it got Melissa peeved and she didn't play all that well.

Sloppy pockets, inconsistent rails, very slow napped cloth and the very bad Valley Arimyth green logo cue balls.Everything put together to cut corners.Primitive conditions that have the effect of dumbing down the game.

Enhance the competition and profits will follow.Get rid of the Valleys.
