What happened to him betting 1k of his own money and his bankroll

Now it's play for 3 days for $166 a day

Yep, that's the math on this match up. I'm not knocking the grudge match up, it is what it is. What I'm knocking is the salesman that thinks if he says it everyone will believe it. Not even many of the perfect aim followers are jumping on this sales train. Johnnyt

It will be allot more by Tuesday for sure.

I'm also getting in stroke and really like my chances to win this match.

If I didn't think i could i wouldn't be playing it.

Good luck if you bet either way. I like my end.

I guess you'll have to see how much is what.

You heard it first here. i will win this match.

I didn't say much before because i didn't think i could get in stroke.

Just about there and 2 days left to practice.

The smooth criminal is in trouble.

What's that, $3500 of missed PA lessons you're imagining and the $500 you really put up? Johnnyt

I don't care what anyone says.......conflict is what drives entertainment.

If these guys were best of friends and still betting their own money, sure some people would watch, because it's still good pool.

But, as soon as the trash-talking, sweat bets and general conflict begins between adversaries that seem to not care for each other.......numbers will swell.

It's all about the conflict.

Heck, I'm already thinking about Bartrum vs. Albrecht II.

Today I did 2 lessons..............

I didn't mention the second one but it was to a young lady that has lost all her money here in Columbus.

She loves pool and plays all the locals for money and she plays pretty good but the eyes were all over.

Stance needs work and the stroke also but in about 1 hour we came a long ways.

Once the eyes were in the right place and she could see the shots better she was all ears and eyes.

I was tired and she was tired. I paid for the table time one the table that the stream is going to be on. There's no free time there for the stream players. I think Chris will get charged for the time during the match also.

And it's his table. Sounds like a bad deal to me?

This young lady needs to learn because she is just as pool crazy as anyone I have ever met. She just loves the game.

I'm going to work with her some more tomorrow.

Gene,

How about a straightforward number on what you have bet. Not what you have invested, because I know that includes your hotel for the week, gas, food, escorts, etc.

Why are people wanting to know? Because if all you have bet is $500 and you're getting $500 back from the stream, then no need to jump in on the rail, if you have something bet, then that changes things. Please don't put up a figure like $4,000 and put "invested" that's rather unfair to the person you're playing and what he is betting and willing to bet.

I'm confused on why everyone is concerned about how high Gene has bet. Whatever he has bet, Chris has bet the same.

Chris is commenting that Gene is free rolling it. But best I can tell, that means Chris has a free roll as well. And based on Chris' prediction of an easy win, his free roll is worth more than Gene's.

It takes 2 people to make a game. The game was agreed on by both in order for it to happen. Chris could have simply said it's not enough to hurt, so go get more money and we'll try again some time.

The game is on, the grudge is there. After all the woofing, both players have serious pride on the line.

It keeps changing all the time...........

I got my friend getting more bets all the time.

I don't have half that action but I could. Last time I checked yesterday he had almost $5,000 locked up and we're getting games on the wire.

Getting a little weaker though.

He's not stopping until he gets 10,000. he's got deep pockets and know where we stand on this game.

On the other hand.

I want to try and explain why it's a bad bet financially with out pay per view or side action.

If I didn't put up any money it really is a tough way to go if a player wants to make any money.

It costs allot of money to be on the road. Someone that has never been there wouldn't have no clue.

This is why there are no per say road players running around the country today.

I said this once and I'm going to say this again.

For me to stop teaching and just start practicing for something like this is pretty non functional for sure financially. .

Let's assume I put up $1,000 or $500 in cash.
My expenses per week on the road are about $1,000.
Trying to get in stroke in a week means I'm missing out on about 5 Perfect Aim lessons. Another $1,000.

I got $3,000 or $2500 invested no matter how you cut it to try and win $1,000 or $500. How stupid is that.

The money I have and make out here on the road is like pulling teeth money. It's like a game out here trying to outrun the nutz of the road. It can eat you up in a quick hurry especially if you make bad decisions.

If i win the first day there will be some money flying for sure.

Is my friend my backer? No.

If a player doesn't put up his own money but has others put up the cash how can they say they play good for the cash. Many players just want the bet up there to get the other player out of their comfort zone.

I'm out of my comfort zone and not afraid to admit it but i think I can handle it.

That's why we play to see who can get there with all the bananas on the line.

I bet everything I could personally and I'f I had more I would bet it. i like my chances right now more than ever.

My friend is just a businessman with lots of money. What he does is up to me. If i pull this thing off He'll take care of me for sure. That's what friends are all about.

Bottom line though. If I win and got $1,000 or $500 I'd still be $2,000 stuck for the week. Not too smart.

Did i bet $5,000. Absolutely not. I bet what i have and it's my own money.

As far as questioning my heart or desire.

I challenge anyone to be on the road with me and stay there that's used to living in one spot for years.

I'm one of the real roadplayers that is still doing it. I got something pretty special to teach and keep me going but i play allot of players also.

Usually they don't get my A game because of too many lessons and trying to keep the bank account afloat.

But when I stop and smell the roses for a week like this I can usually get the cash.

Havn't booked a loser in awhile and I don't plan on this time either for sure.

Bottom line. If there wasn't the Pay per view that would pump a little money in here there would be no sense at all of playing financially.

Doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure a $3,000 investment to make $1,000.

Not too good. I win and I still lose money for the week.

Got to go. Winning will take care of everything and that's what i plan on doing. The match will be the Teacher. it will tell the whole truth and nothing but the truth.

Doing a lesson and then it's down to Players to tame that table a little bit more.

One man a van and the road.

With that being said have your friend bring cash

Since some people on here don't think the bet is high enough I propose we put something else on the line.

How about if Gene wins he gets Bartram's nickname?

Gene "The Smooth Instructor" Albrecht

or if Chris wins he becomes known as:

Chris "The Perfectly™ Smooth Criminal" Bartram.

Come on guys. What do you say?

I know what you're sayin. Especially after 4 years of woofing back and forth, you don't want it to be a free roll and you want it to hurt.

It sounds like the 2 of you are in different places financially. I think Gene is looking at the hurt on you being his victory as the underdog since he can't bet a stack that would hurt you with a loss.

Without the stream, maybe 40% of his bankroll is enough to hurt. But kudos to Ray for stepping up to help make it happen.

I know you didn't want it to be a free roll, but you can still take Gene's cash, pride, and get some extra from Bigtruck if you bear down and win this thing.

Had a kid named Gracick play me a while back.in the late 90's....

He came to my club and I was totally out of stroke.

I only bet $200 a set at the beginning and he was betting about 1200 on the rail.

There were 2 other guys with him that had the money.

After 2 days of playing the rail quit because i was down about 6 sets.

The third day they kind of kept punking me out and told me if i was betting more money myself it wouldn't be so easy.

This kid i was playing isn't playing on his own money. These guys are his backer.

The forth day I went to the bank.Got a pile of cash and went to work. I was finally in stroke.

I busted these guys the next 2 days.

After it was over the backer told me they had been on the road for 6 months and this was the first loser the kid had booked.

Can't remember how much I won but it was at least in the 7 to 8 thousand rang.

I bet my own money and I had allot at that time.

I just needed to get in stroke before I played for some more money.

I see players all the time get players to bet higher than their comfort zone. They use this to get an edge in the mind department.

I will play just the way I can play or even a little better. But that's me.

If playing in front of the world isn't pressure enough I don't know what is.

Both of us think we can win.

Chris is a great player.

I play pretty good. We'll see if my pretty good can beat this little monster.

Not a chore for the weak minded for sure............

Everyone thinks it can't be done..........

And maybe they're right.

His table, his cue ball, his magic rack(he wants this for sure) his hometown, his favorite poolhall or was.

I don't think he has ever booked a loser here before from what I hear.

I'm here, knocking on the door.

Not many players know what I have in the tank.

Looks like everyone is about to find out.
