wrap question

The original .Meucci cues, the ones with the little round bumper and were
in that first brochure with George Washington on it. This was before he started
putting the finish over the wrap. The wrap had something on it, it was not
just pressed. It was kind of tacky feeling. They called it sealed and pressed.
Anyway I liked the way it felt. I also saw a few other cues done this way, one
was a Schick. I was wondering if anyone remembers and how it was done.
thanks jack
