I shot quite a bit of Pool this last weekend, shooting in 3 little tournaments, good in 1, not so good in other 2, all handicapped. Later on, on Saturday night, I got to playing on the Challenge table down at Shooters, and the game, for the most part, was $5 a game 9 ball with other good players. I asked a player when racking if he wanted to make it $10 a game, and the rest of the night (3.5 hours), it was $10 a game with about 3-4 other players. At $10 a game, the bangers and upstarts usually just watch.
I made some shots, and my opponents did too, that drew a few comments from the railbirds, but the following 2, I felt, were 2 of the best that railbirds seemed to like the best.
The first one was this shot, and if I did not get the cue ball on the long rail
almost frozen and straight with the 6, there was no straight in shot to be made. I ended up with this position, here is what I ended up doing on my 'bite the bullet' shot::

The second shot was a back and forth game, no one wanting to make the 3 and quite a few 'safes' were shot on the 3 until my opponent scratched, and then here is what I did:
Using extreme low right english (lots of spin), I did this:

I got out on both tables. Even my opponent commented more than once
about how good the 2nd shot was. I ended up just a little ahead for time spent on the challenge table.
