You referring to the frame? That laminated frame is STRONG and durable. I live in Ok. where its humid to say the least. They use laminated trusses to build houses and they last FOREVER. The laminated planks under the slate are marine-grade plywood. Same deal, will last forever.

For my lack of knowledge, I will take your word for it. I always thought that plywood/fiberboard and moisture don’t mix. I guess even solid wood and moisture don’t mix well either. If I lived in Arizona or Las Vegas, I wouldn’t be concerned but I live on the gulf coast.

Plywood. We had cabinets replaced in a master bathroom. Wood is all plywood. I guess it depends on the grade. We’re in Florida where heat is a killer

Myth busters would have a field day with you😂

No I think RKC is sayin is I am creating a myth...

If you wanna buy a bunch of them, they will sell them cheaper I am sure.
When I got the flyer that is what I was told from Diamond.
Not here to argue with you RKC. I am sure you can make any deal you want happen, not everyone is at your level. I am not that high on the food chain with them like you are. I always tell people when they ask what Diamond instructed me to say. Whether it is a fact or it is bendable, that is purely up to Diamond.

I am just the "little guy" company trying to keep my family taken care of :)

I just don’t have the knowledge about plywood to debate either way. The weather here is probably close to where you live, Hot and humid. I’m looking forward to some cooler weather.

Plywood. I'm assuming Diamond uses the best grade materials. Have not read or heard of problems due to weather. Pool rooms have them and they get played on for hours daily/nightly. Must be a reason why they are so popular. They sit in a cold or hot evironment day and night for years with no problems. Don't be too concerned. I'm more concerned with the look and it's growing on me.

It’s growing on me too. I keep looking at pictures online. It’s pool table porn.

Coin time. Flip a coin. Both very elegant.
Please no hate mail or death threats... would get a Tourney GC in walnut with a gold Simonis...or a Black Pro with a silver Simonis.
What are the room measurements on the Pro shown?

How are the pedestals on your Gold Crown holding up? The end caps are solid maple but they are wrapped in plywood and I believe some of the interior construction may be plywood.

UPDATE: I just opened a brand new set of Diamond Professional legs for a table I am restoring, the originals got damaged beyond use, new was the only route. The new ones are plywood and not HDF!! Next is the frame? I cannot imagine it would cost that much more. I think it should be an option if the price was reasonable!!!
That is all

P.s. That Diamond Professional is a restored red label. My Diamond restorations can almost pass as NEW!

From my untrained eyes, they appear good. Then again, untrained.

What kind of damage did the originals have?

The frame is TimberStrandLSL. They build houses from the same stuff. Strong as steel. The planks under the slate are marine-grade plywood. 3/4" thick using waterproof adhesive. They are built like tanks. You'll never have an issue UNLESS it sits outside. Humidity will have zero effect on it.

The older style Diamond Pro's did not have the leveling system in them. So you had to screw down the slates and the holes definitely stripped out much faster for sure. New ones dont have that problem!

The slate screws on the Diamond Pros ALL screw into the poplar wood attached to the timberstrand, not the timberstrand itself, so check your facts.
