Gave myself a $100 budget to convert a Duffern my brother gave me. Eight years and $25,000 later, I still don't have my own cue to play with.

Larry

Cue makers pay more to make cues than any of us pay to buy them.

That's kind of a rule in the universe. :grin-square:

Thanks for all your hard work. Seriously.

That sounds awesome!

It definitely was. I ended up trading it off because it was too nice for me to play with. Too worried about dinging it up whenever I pulled it out of the case.

I guess I could have added it had 3 low and 3 high points. No inlays or veneers.

@nd hand value

Makes no difference how much the cue costs as long as you like the cue and the 2nd hand value is more then you paid for it .

Love it when someone says I don't shoot good enough to own a expensive pool cue .
What does your shooting ability have anything to do with what value of a cue you are allowed to buy ?

As long as I can sale the cue for more then I paid for it , I am totally happy .regardless how the cue plays .

Only problem is some times the cue is so nice you don't want to play with the cue because its more of a work of art and looks like it belongs in a glass display case .

Only had that happen with one cue ,, 2nd cue from the end .

I'll attempt to describe my 8-point Josswest
Ivory points with silver veneer bridgepoint
Silver flaring out of the points
Abalone ovals and diamonds with ivory tips, double silver around the ovals and silver around the diamonds.
I can't count them all but there is at least 160 tiny ivory diamonds inlayed in the ringwork.
Ivory joint and butt cap with 4 other ivory & double silver rings in the back.
Radial pin, plays really good

You could have put the period before the word "and", then stopped the sentence right there.

Seriously? Why does secondhand value matter if you "like the cue"? I've paid money on many cues that I "like" fully knowing in advance that I wasn't going to get my money back if I were to sell one.

Guess what? I still have ALL the cues that I "like". Why in the heck would someone get rid of a cue that they like???

Maniac (still has every firearm that he has ever liked too )

Just got a wrapless Dennis Searring cue for little over 3k and it’s the best cue I’ve ever had. Also have a wrapless Tascarella with ivory joints and it comes in close 2nd.

Mine are being built currently, no idea what the cost will be and it wont matter. Combination of the 2 greatest cuemakers from 2 different era's.

As well, mine will be in a form from those masters, eventually, hopefully.. Something old then something new. Crossing my fingers.

At one time I owned 90 custom cues and have serious issues.... an addiction. They're just so damn pretty. 😍 No comment on what the most is I ever paid for a pool cue. I'm starting PCA and committing myself. #PoolCueAddicts
