There is one (First Capitol Hotel in Corydon) offering weekly rates of about $200 for a double. They claim to have pool tables in their game room. Might be worth a call.

I just booked 4 days at the baymont in corydon. Would rather stay at the hosting hotel, but with my wyndham rewards card(formerly trip rewards card,) I can stay at the baymont for free! Which is freakin' awesome!:D

Got some pictures at Harrah's of the tournament room.

This is the main tournament room. Directly in the front is where the TV table will be set up. The main room is surrounded in 3 sides with sky box/ balcony rooms which will also be used for tournaments.

To top right on the photo is the VIP room. There are one on rigt and left of the TV table (stage). The view from the VIP room is incredible. You can watch every match from there.

More sky boxes/ balcony rooms.

Planning out the possibilities

TAR PIT/ Action Room - Of course, there will be black curtains draped over these windows to block all the sun lights. It looks as about 8 tables can comfortably fit in this room.

More to come.

Of course there are booze everywhere. Last call is 2 a.m. per Indiana Laws:( No more drinking until 4 am like the ol'Executive West...

However, there was this very classy joint called Legends - looked very elegant and hip. Just give us pool players one night, we'll change it all around:p

I think Harrah's really excited to having DCC over there-already a welcome sign;)

No actually it was a sign at the buffet line. Along with many snack shops and one REAL fancy steak house they also have the traditional casino buffet. Price was reasonable for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Something like 12, 14 and 18. Tuesday dinner is like 24 and they call it specialty buffet. And my favorite Seafood buffet is on Friday nights with crab legs, oysters on half shell and sushi! also for 24.

On a Monday night when I was there, they had variety of food. American section had pretty prime rib for buffet grade, several styles of pizza, pasta, soul food and whole section dedicated to Chinese food along with KIMCHEE, yes you heard me, they had kimchee, lol.

Overall of my rating to the buffet is very good!

Now don't anyone bother me for autographs on Friday night. I will be tearing up the seafood buffet:p LOL

Derby starts with banks, 1 pocket and 9 ball. Along with the regular tournaments there are TAR PIT for 24 hour action, AZ's member room, Billiard Championship and Straight Pool Challenge. The complete schedule is posted here: http://www.dcctickets.com/2009EventSchedule/tabid/214/Default.aspx

Enjoy.

I'm happy to say that I just got off the phone with Harrah's main line and had absolutely no problem reserving a room for the entire event. They even checked for the DCC code and compared my player's card rate with the DCC rate. Found out it still was cheaper using the DCC rate. Still a little more expensive than EW, but I have a feeling it will be worth it in the end. At least I know the food has got to be better and a bigger variety at the Horseshoe. Now for the plane ticket and then off I go!! I can't wait.
