Save me a phone call. What's the rate?
Per an earlier post by Greg:

$105 weeknights, $130 Weekends

They have alotted 300 rooms for the DCC. So I would make reservations early. There are some other hotels a few miles away but you would have to excercise some Google-Fu to get the info.

The word on street is to get a Harrah's card. I have no clue how to do it or what is invoved to get a better rate than the tournament rate. I am sure someone here knows.

Something I am going to do this year and I hope all of the pool players do is to sign up for a Harrahs card on site and make sure they know you are there specifically for the DCC. Use the card if you go gamble on tables or slots and if possible in the restaurants and bars. Greg is starting a brand new relationship with this company. They have no idea about how big the event was at Executive West and probably don't really care. It is up to us to prove that pool players will come out and support a long running event like the DCC.

I was against having the DCC in a casino but the bottom line is that is what had to happen to survive and times are not going to get any easier so we better make the most of it. Harrah's is not a bad company to have in pools corner, if we as a group let them know that we will come to one of their hotels specifically for a pool tournament it could be the start of something important.

(Steps down off soapbox) :D

You can get a Total Rewards card by visiting any Harrahs property.
www.harrahs.com is the site and you can see if there is a property near you. The comp rate is pretty sporty, damn near free depending upon your level of gambling.
I agree with Justin, lets show the casinos that we will support the tourney and that will definitely help the future of events in casinos. We in the pool world need partners and Harrahs wouldn't be a bad partner to have.

I just booked the Holiday Inn Express in Corydon, IN for $80 plus tax per night. I think i have finally graduated from the Red Roof. RR stl has the quietest doors in the industry imho so i might be back.

There is one (First Capitol Hotel in Corydon) offering weekly rates of about $200 for a double. They claim to have pool tables in their game room. Might be worth a call.

You will regret not staying where the action is.

Yes, I think it's much better -- budget permitting -- to be in the tournament hotel, but with only 300 rooms allocated, someone is going to have to sleep elsewhere.

Im kinda an oddball. The only time I regretted where i was at at the DCC was when i stayed at the Exec West. Im an old man who needs to sleep and after 2 nights in that crazy house, I moved down the road. I never stayed there again.

I once checked out of the noisy Bellagio into the peace and quiet of a hooker filled Motel 6 on Dean Martin Dr. I finally got some sleep and felt quite at home.

So basically "different strokes for different folks"

Cowboy, are you saying that the DCC rate is better than the rate offered with the Total Rewards Card by itself?

Thanks~ Doc

I just booked mine through Harrahs website under my total rewards account and got all my nights comp. If you have a harrahs card try booking it under their site and see what kind of rates u get. Hope this info helps... Thanks!!

My wife gets better comps, does that mean I'm the nit of the family?

But seriously the card is the way to go because you are showing support for the venue and showing them pool players are willing to support events.

May I ask did you get all days (1/23-1/31) comped? If so you must be a large gambler at Harrah's properties
