$105 weeknights, $130 Weekends
They have alotted 300 rooms for the DCC. So I would make reservations early. There are some other hotels a few miles away but you would have to excercise some Google-Fu to get the info.
The word on street is to get a Harrah's card. I have no clue how to do it or what is invoved to get a better rate than the tournament rate. I am sure someone here knows.
Something I am going to do this year and I hope all of the pool players do is to sign up for a Harrahs card on site and make sure they know you are there specifically for the DCC. Use the card if you go gamble on tables or slots and if possible in the restaurants and bars. Greg is starting a brand new relationship with this company. They have no idea about how big the event was at Executive West and probably don't really care. It is up to us to prove that pool players will come out and support a long running event like the DCC.
I was against having the DCC in a casino but the bottom line is that is what had to happen to survive and times are not going to get any easier so we better make the most of it. Harrah's is not a bad company to have in pools corner, if we as a group let them know that we will come to one of their hotels specifically for a pool tournament it could be the start of something important.
(Steps down off soapbox)
There is one (First Capitol Hotel in Corydon) offering weekly rates of about $200 for a double. They claim to have pool tables in their game room. Might be worth a call.JCIN said:... some other hotels a few miles away but you would have to excercise some Google-Fu to get the info. ...
You will regret not staying where the action is.Nostroke said:I just booked the Holiday Inn Express in Corydon, IN for $80 plus tax per night. I think i have finally graduated from the Red Roof. RR stl has the quietest doors in the industry imho so i might be back.
Yes, I think it's much better -- budget permitting -- to be in the tournament hotel, but with only 300 rooms allocated, someone is going to have to sleep elsewhere.Hal said:You will regret not staying where the action is.

Cowboy, are you saying that the DCC rate is better than the rate offered with the Total Rewards Card by itself?CocoboloCowboy said:I called the Horseshoe, and was told with MY Total Reward #, Greg got the pool Player a BETTER RATE. Than with my Total Reward Number.
Thanks Greg.
