I got this old, odd cue.
Not sure if it is any good.
Someone said it was a cheap Asian (Japenese?) knockoff Cue.

Mezz SA Series

This is from the old discontinued SA Series from Mezz.
It has come with Standard 5x16/14 piloted joint and a regular maple shaft.

Cobra and Mizerak?

Yeah, better than those.

I would say it's about the same quality as the Cobra Professional and Mizerak Professional cues. Which is to say about the quality of a good Adam cue, Helmstetter, etc.

Is it a "good" cue? Play with it and see. If you like it keep it. If not sell it.

I am surprised someone thought it was a knock off.

I thought Mezz cues were considered by some to be the best production cues made?

HUH?? Mezz makes the best production cues available now. QC is best in the business.

I didn't think I contradicted that.

Maybe I didn't say what I meant very well.

This is not a current model. It is a discontinued model from what I think was their lowest model series. They had conventional maple shafts.

I compared it with a good Adam, meaning the better Adam cues.

So what I was saying was the lowest Mezz at that time might compare with the better Adam cues.

Then I said to determine how good it was, play with it. I didn't think that was a bad suggestion.

I mentioned the Cobra and Mizerak Professional Series only because he had mentioned those brands, most of which were crappy department store products. The Professional Series were quite good at the time. That was in the 1990's.

As well, to be fair, Mezz actually made some Adam/Helmstetter cues, back in the 1980's.

I certainly never meant to imply it wasn't a "good cue".
