Stolen Cues at Derby City Classic

I left Saturday morning after 9 days at the tournament, I left my room carrying my lug age and my cues. I got home and realized my cues were not in my car.

I called Greg Sullivan and he immediately talked to hotel security, they called me yesterday and said they couldn't immediately see what happened, tonight I got a 2nd call and they clearly saw me put my luggage in my vehicle and stand my cues on the passenger side of my vehicle. At this point I drove off and my cue fell to the ground as I forgot I put it against my car.

A person was seen right afterwards picking up the cue and putting it in their vehicle and driving off. I know this was my fault for not remembering I did not put my cue in my car. The following is a description of my cues.

1- Meucci Original Gambler cue with the original matching shaft and a new Meucci pro shaft, in immaculate condition, it is all spades with red and white points

2- J.Michael Durbin break cue with 2 shafts, cue is like a light golden stain with a black wrap, it is pretty plain, it was Joey Grays before I got it from Mike Durbin.

3- A blue and white Pro-Series case with a top that does not lock.

Someone knows who has these I am sure, in the pouch of the case is my business cards with my name on them, I am an outside sales rep. for Diamond Billiard Products, also my Derby City Classic picture id was in my case, if any one knows anything about these cues please let me know. I know I was very careless in not remembering to put these in my car, these are my playing cues and I would very much like to have them back, Thanks Gary Lutman

What a bummer man. Too bad some people are scum.

I left my cell phone at Hardtimes and someone stole it instead of turning it in at the counter or giving it to Marie (the TD).

Hoe you get them back.

Feeling bad

It is wishful thinking that someone would return my cues, they have had them since yesterday and I think they have decided to keep them, feeling bad that people do what they do sometimes

Don't lose total faith in Humanity just yet Wolf. Stranger things have happened.

I could see if it was a plain ole Finders Keepers, but with your business card and number in the pocket, it does present an opportunity to be able to do the proper thing.

I take it that unfortunately, a better description of the car and plate were not available on the video. The person was obviously staying at the same Hotel as yourself.
I guess that you don't have to leave a description and details of your vehicle upon checking in.

By chance, is the persons picture on the video good enuff that security could ask the desk clerks who it may be. They might be able to put a face to a room.

Keep your fingers crossed. It is about all that one can do at the moment.

Sorry, I re read your post. I guess that it could have been anyone that stopped and picked up your cues. If they are not players themselves in that case, any of the pawn shops in town might get them within a few days.

I lost my player recently by leaving it on the table and walking out, forgetting to put it back in my bag.

This is for all you adolescent scumbag thieves out there:
If you find a cue and you know it's not yours, turn it in to management.
Grow up.

Damn, this is tough news Gary.

I still have hope you might recover them. They may just still be contemplating next steps. Maybe a pawn shop, or maybe you get a call.

Your Meucci and Durbin cues make a somewhat easily identified set, so be sure all the local pawn shops are aware. Along with the big local pool rooms.

I will keep a close eye in the Kansas City area, and will check local pawns. If others do the same in respective locales, it may well help.

Good luck. You are a great player, I know how you like those cues.

Sorry to hear your loss. Any chance of posting the footage, or cameras caught the license plate?

Sorry but I have to do this... DROP! And give me 20!

Seriously, though. It is always beyond me why anyone wants something that they have not earned. Especially at the expense of someone else who earned it. Hopefully, this is not the case and someone knew it was yours and plans to return to you personally. Or they get "Stealer's remorse" and use your cards to send it to you. Good luck!

Hopefully the person who FOUND these LOST cues will return them to the owner.

Considering you have already spoke with casino security I would ask them if they can identify the person in the video, Most likely the person that picked up your cues was or did enter in the casino and if that person looks younger I bet they was asked for ID when entering the gaming area.
All that info is in their security's computers.
Ship the fiddy'.

Enjoy.

If you can get the video, post a screenshot here. I bet someone recognizes them.

Hope you get back what is rightfully yours. The casino has a video, maybe a license plate # was caught on the video. Who knows maybe the person who has them will realize the right thing to do. GL
