Not number one, but couldn't help singing along in the car.

Not trying to hijack a thread, but I read this a couple of weeks ago and it really hits home.

The late Bill Graham was Eddie Money's manager, and he put on the very first concert at Autzen Stadium in Eugene. He booked Eddie to open for the Outlaws, and his Bay area favorites, Santana and the Grateful Dead. I remember scoffing at Eddie and wondering what he was doing in that lineup, but then marveling at his fine set and performance. He was a great singer and band leader (with a killer band too!). The studio cuts pale compared to the live performance, but I like them also.

I think his career was like a shooting star, brief but bright. I haven't heard anything I recall since those early days. Great while it lasted, and sorry to hear of his passing.

It may overstate it to say sic transit gloria mundi, but it will feel like it (in slow motion), as these septuagenarians are stacked up like flights in a holding pattern on a bad day at LaGuardia. We've already seen the leading edge of it starting, as spring turns to winter.

All the 27 year olds who sadly passed met The Who's wish lyric: I hope I die before I get old (talkin' 'bout my generation). The rest are in the waiting room.

Well they say the only certainty is death and taxes although many a rock star changed countries to avoid the latter.

Why do you think John Lennon moved to NYC? The Stones repaired to the S. of France for awhile.

Rod Stewart moved to LA.

Thank you for the backstory Sof. Interesting info. I bet it was a helluva show.
