What is the thickness of a layer of Irish Linen wrap? The reason I'm asking is because I'm thinking of replacing the Linen wrap with either cork or leather.

I believe that is is 24 thousandths - iicrc

No no no no no!!! The standard depth for an irish linen wrap groove is 25 thousandths of an inch!!! You can't possibly compensate for that extra thousandth by wrapping a little tighter or using a slightly less thick coat of glue!!

LOL :eek:k:

All kidding aside, Danny's number is good.

Have fun - I'd MUCH rather put on a leather wrap than linen!! But that's just me.

Most leather are a little thicker than linen.
It shouldn't be a problem unless you find some fillers like electrical tape under the linen. Don't laugh, they are out there.

Thanks to all for taking the time to respond. Without a doubt, this is the best site to get any information that is pool related.

Hi,

Leather wraps vary and are between about .020 to over .030+ on some stuff.

Each wrap groove should be custom cut to match the select piece of hide to be installed.

Linen is more consistent but can vary a tiny bit.

Alway measure twice and cut once two avoid mistakes.
