This painting of Mosconi seems really cheap. It looks amazing. Does the artist need to be dead before it's worth something? Any art affcionados in the house? What am I missing? I thought original artwork was worth considerably more.

If someone buys this, please post why, where you'e putting it, etc. if you don't mind. It's really something.

I think I get your drift. Not sure why though... Is it a scam? Not really hand-painted? It does almost look too perfect...

Now, look at the ebay "painting". If it is an actual painting, which I doubt highly, they painted a badly photoshopped (removing autograph) version of the original.

More than likely just another photoshop picture. No where does it state that is a photo of the "painting" you would receive.

If you look at the description in general, I would be surprised if you would receive anything in the mail to begin with.

Interested in any bridges?

yea..dassa foto.

that said, if you look at the seller's other auctions, there are many other photos posted, listed with words like "original, oil painting, on canvas," etc.

I think the artist is posting photos and shipping paintings once they're paid for.
as an artist, I imagine you save space and time that way-

the artist's feedback indicates mostly satisfied customers, with a few complaining about a lack of detail.

an original painting of willie mosconi for seventy-six bucks could be a deal, or a rip,
just depends on the who's looking at it...

I contacted seller(some Asian guy) and he is adamant that he and his wife painted this. Jay you may just be on to something. Good catch on the shadow. If its paint then they did a helluva a job.

jay, I'm not sure- but it really looks like the person that posted the ebay picture just digitally painted green over mosconi's autograph, and was lazy about removing the whole shadow..

to the op tho, I doubt the ebay artist is purporting that the photo posted is an actual painting..look at his other auctions to compare..having a room full of willie mosconi paintings would be interesting,
but I think he just wants the cash before he actually paints the thing

I can't see the message..

anyway, after looking at it again, I'm def with rivercity- that's photochop.

who would paint half a shadow? and look at the shadow under the rail, etc.
the guy was just lazy cleaning up the picture.

as for whether or not you'll get a painting of willie mosconi if you buy the thing, I bet you will..but what it will look like, I don't know..

I'll pony up a buck to find out..anybody else feeling like playing the mosconi painting lotto? :D
