Straight Pool Specific Learning Aids

Hi gang, I'm looking for some intructional books or DVDs on Straight Pool.
I specifically want to learn how to pattern out the rack.
I've watched Sigel do it with the commentators, well, commentating, but I sort of want something more along the lines of time honored rules & logic.

I'm certainly interested in how to prioritize which shots to execute/sink first and so on.
I understand the importance of the break-shot ball and the set-up ball to get there. What I'm looking for is how to get from the break-shot to the set-up ball (which, of course, leads to the next break-shot ball).

UPS just dropped off the Straight Pool Bible and it looks really promising.
Shout out to @G&M who is one of the books 2 authors.

George Fels (in "Advanced Pool" ?) discusses various kinds of balls, which you have to deal with immediately, which you want to preserve and how to play by area.

Here is a video of Dallas West's explanation of a run of 100, introduced by Tom Kollins:

Thank you! I was hoping to find something with Grady Matthews as he does such an outstanding job commentating the Sigel vs. Zuglan 1992 US Open Straight Pool match.

First time I've seen that video, thanks for posting. Interesting contrast in styles compared to a lot of today's top players.

I put together an Instructional 14.1 video for the heck of it and I do believe it came out very well..... Give it a try... I always have said... if you learn one thing only from a book or a video. Then it was worth while..

Nice video....thanks!

Play Your Best Straight Pool by Phil Capelle is a comprehensive book on the subject.

I suggest "Grady Mathews' Straight Pool Instructional Break Shots & Key Balls"
Available on Accu-Stats. 5 dollars for a viewing, isn't too bad. I also made a series myself on the 14.1 forum about patterns about my experiences with pattern play. Some of the principles I discuss there are also discussed in the Grady video.

I ordered a copy of the Accu-stats video "Grady Matthews' Straight Pool Instructional"
It is simply the best Straight Pool video I've ever seen. Grady is clear, precise, and as always, no nonsense.
The video is clear, the audio is great and the pace is nice. He hits the nuances & the common possible scenarios. This is the real deal, A++.
If there's any downside, as I watched I felt sad that he's no longer with us. RIP Grady.
For $23.00, the ROI is amazing.

Interesting suggestion, LOL. I actually took a lesson a 7 hour lesson with him back in the late Spring of 2016. It was invaluable.
People can say what they want about Mike, he is an excellent instructor.

I recently watched a Jim Rempe video where he commentated on a run of 100 by him, it had quite a lot of information I found useful, but I can't say if there is anything new or better than the others you may have seen since I have not read or watched many straight pool instructional things.
