Is the room where they held the southern classic still around?

Mainly asking this because I think I remember the tables being nothing but ten footers there.
If you're referring to the SC in Tunica it was held at a casino/hotel that has since closed. The 10ft's were for the Bigfoot event. Tournament was only held two yrs,'12-'13.

I was there, can't remember if one or both years. It all blends together now:)

I believe they had qty 4 10' tables for the various events and for the players to mess around with.

Right. It was called Harrah's Casino Tunica. All the normal "DCC" events other than the 10-Ball -- Banks, One-Pocket, 9-Ball -- were played on 9-footers. Here's some history of the place: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Harrah's_Casino_Tunica

I went in '12. Played golf and ate WAAAY too much food at Paula Dean's. Good event. Too bad it only lasted 2yrs. I'd love to see Diamond do another DCC-style event. I think KC would be a great place for one myself. Plenty of hotels and easy to get to.

I recall the sponsors and the casino itself was disappointed in the attendance figures. I think partial blame fall on the sponsors and hotel itself. There was absolutely no local advertisement for either event and yet you can see a dozen billboards formmiles around the metro area...including east arkansas and north mississippi advertising creedence clearwater revisited or the marshall tucker band for months in advance .

I also recall that some pros did not attend the first year ..i believe ...due to bonis ball.

There had been a womens pro event held their a few years ealier and i knew nothing about it until after it was over. Again...no local advertising.

NOLA would be a great spot.
