Hey guys, Im thinking about coring just about everything in the future. Im looking for a gun drill that has a smaller shank. Most of what Im looking at has 3/4 inch or larger. I want a 3/4 finished hole but my chucks wont handle anything over 1/2 inch. Do I need to invest in a larger chuck? Thanks and any direction to find one would be appreciated. Mark

A larger capacity chuck would be a good investment.

Sterling makes them with 5/8" shank. I also had to buy a 5/8" chuck.

All the ones I sell on my site have side air with 1/2" shanks.

I chuck them up in lathe turn the shank down to 1/2 " for about 1 " drill a hole in the side of larger part of shank and install a air fitting , welded in of course .
Also weld up hole in end where small shank is .
