I've been looking for a way to carry around several cubes of chalk. Plastic bags get messy quick, the individual leather pouches are too much to carry around several cubes.
Seeing a piece of master chalk on my desk alongside a film canister, I noticed it'd was nearly a perfect fit, so I filed down the corners a little (caution- a pretty messy process) to get it to go in. I can get two to fit in each one.
Dunno if this is one of those things people used to do back when film was more prevalent, but hopefully it's simple enough of a DIY accessory to be worth trying.
