If everyone here complaining put as much time in on the tables as they do crying they would have a chance!

It is nothing about more practice. I brought the topic up from the beginning because in the original email the tournament director said "Top 125 listed" and now he is stating top 120 listed. Why he is doing this was my only question from the start. Sorry if I got some peoples panties in a bunch. I am leaving work in a few hours and heading to WV today no matter who is on the players list.

Well, Dee Atkins never did make it to the singles and his team never came close the money. Alex's Team only got 5/6th and seemed loaded. This proves even more that my system of play is best and the players that complain about skill level is just a waste of time. If you can run out and play safety in a match you can beat anyone with alternate breaks and short races. Alex went for over $1100 in both calcutta's combined and won $75. All matches where tough regardless of who was playing.

We are looking for keep the format the same but limit the women to races of 4 due to the slow play and stick to more strict rules and stop watched matches to keep all play at the best speed.

If anyone has any other questions, or suggestions we will be glad to listen to the all for next year's event. We will be starting the work for next year's event shortly.

I thank everyone that came and I am glad that we had it set up the way I wanted last year. It seems everyone had a great time and we received many compliments.

This event was very, very well run. Everything went smooth from start to finish. The only suggestion I would make is to change nothing.

Mr. Davis,

My name is Brian Andrews and I wanted to tell you I had a great time watching your well run event with all of the great players this past weekend. I am working in Saudi Arabia right now and have to say I lost a lot of sleep watching all of the pool matches, singles and teams. I am definitely going to try and come out to your event next year. Good luck with all of your future promotions, I truly understand the difficulties with running an event and having to deal with a lot of questions regarding players, payouts, format and rules and not making a dime out of it.

Respectfully Submitted,

bma9ball

JAY,

i was at the tourney friday & saturday to watch a couple of buddies in the 8ball team event.
There were many strong players on many teams & it was very enjoyable to watch.
I would say that you ran a very good tourney.
I enjoyed many of your comments while making announcements.
My favorite being "if you're hungry, eat a donut & play pool"

i look forward to coming back next year,

SLIM

I would like to thank everyone that attended the tournament. We only had a few issues with people really not understanding BCA Rules and some slow play in some of the matches but overall it went great. There wasn't very much sleep on our end and Sonya ran the ladies event perfectly- she did another great job! I am in planning for next year and possibly an 8Ball Open for Amateurs only- just like the Super Billiards Expo.

Please add any/all comments about the event so I can continue to make this a better experience.

Some of the already mentioned comments:
- Seniors would still like to have their own event even with 16-32 players. This tournament with the 12-18 hrs of pool is tough on them- I agree!
- still some slow play! Yes there was some slow play but it was actually limited to 2-3 men and 3-5 women. They will be addressed on a one to one basis and will not be tolerated next year.
- no practice next to teams/players in a match. - when i saw this I had them move.

We had lots of minis and extra events and we will continue to have those.

I'd be up for an 8 ball event in August, especially if it started either Friday evening or Saturday morning. if it's just 8 ball and all weekend, races to 7 would be great.

I wouldn't change a thing going forward. this past event was great.

for anyone that didn't go, 40 diamond 7ftrs, all with new cloth, new Cyclops balls.

August

Looking at details now for an August 8ball championships...NO PROS, NO top150 pro on BCA ranking, and no KNOWN road players. Format like the Expo with Race to 5 for 2sets, if sets splits you lag again and race to 3- single elimination. $75 entry and take 256 players- start friday calcutta at 6pm, play friday night till sunday finals at 1pm

any thoughts?

What were the tourney payouts without the Calcutta ?
