A little misleading...that 10Gs price....
....the bet was 5Gs.....a side

It was with a guy he gambles at one pocket with...Alex gives him a big spot...
...so now the guy offered to play that game for 5GS.....
...Alex said no....gotta be 10Gs a game.

Welcome to the world of high-rolling...Alex has been living there since he was a kid.

The guy wanted Alex to give him 19-3 for 5k but Alex said for that spot he wanted the guy to bet 10k.

Either way, I woulda been sick to lose the majority of money the same night after I just got paid for top 8 performance in Open

Odd bet. Total chance of course unless some trickery is involved.

On a side note, I’d be uncomfortable carrying around that much cash especially after everybody saw me win it

Unless you are extremely wealthy, anybody who flips a coin for that much money is an IDIOT! I don’t care how well you play pool.

Seems like Dennis gets into action and often wins.

A lot of times Roy's basement crew is giving too much
weight. Just like Chua giving Mitch 3 games race to 9.

Good grief! Alex is a gambler at heart. A lot of pool peeps would do the same thing. I'm living with one. Me, no way could I ever flip for 10 large. I'd have a heart attack if I lost. :embarrassed2:

Degens gotta degen it out sometimes. Parkour!

i have to be honest, my first thought was also this is degenerated and wasteful. but then again who are we to judge him for spending his own money in his own way? is he an addict? probably. but we are all addicted to some shit, whether it be gambling, beer, work, tobacco, shopping, working out or whatever. sometimes it's a good idea to take a step back and not be so judgemental

The amount of money aside, a coin flip -- assuming the coin is legit -- is better odds than practically any single gambling event in a casino. It also seems to me to be the fairest/truest gamble available in a pool room; and that is likely why so many "gamblers" quickly run away from it.

Pretty much sums up how I feel. Let the man do what he wants with his money including lighting it on fire. If he didn't steal for it then it's none of our business.

A 50% chance to double your money for some people beats the prospect of a long-term investment in stocks to attempt to do the same. I guess it made sense to him if he didn't care too much about it if he lost it.

Nobody has commented about this, but it seemed to me that he talked to Fransisco (or a different backer) in Tagalog and it appeared that the backer maybe agreed to back him for the 19-3 game for 5k, so all of a sudden Alex fires back that he'll now play the game for only 5k.

Maybe Alex trying to high roll the guy for a 10k game was because he didn't have or wasn't willing to lose another 5k of his own money and he figured that the guy would say no to 10k and he could save face....

Gambling addiction, it's real and no joke. What a silly way to throw away hard earned money. It's his to do with as he please, but personally I'd rather waste my money differently. In a few decades we'll all be dead, anyway. Gotta live the life you want.

19-3 is earnin' it.

Honestly, I am more offended that a man can ask for 19-3 than at the prospect of a 5 figger flip.

If Alex was willing to bet 10K giving up 19-3, that means he thought it better than a coin flip that he'll win. That makes a coin flip for 10K irrational, but that said, it is his money and he can do with it as he pleases.

That's nothing new I've seen them and Roy flip coins in lew of a set plenty , not 5 k but hundreds and 1k + or other stuff like pitch quarters closest to the spot , they truly are gamblers
