I've owned a Glock (17) with both a 33 round mag and a supressor on it. Honestly the only thing they did was make it awkward to shoot. I thought I could make an indoor range in my familys holiday home (basement), but really the supressor was not quiet enough to make it viable, and the supressor was crazy expensive because of the Glocks action. And the range was a stupid use of space, so it never materialized. I like supressors on long hunting guns, because I like to preserve my ears and don't like to wear sweaty and uncomfortable hearing protection. On a 22 it's a no-brainer, but on a pistol? Meh, not unless you're some sort of parashooting, spec ops, behind the lines guy who can't have a rifle for some reason, then maybe. Otherwise all it does is make your pistol feel clunky, like a long barrel pistol or revolver, without much benefit. Others on the range won't have silencers, so you'll have to wear hearing protection anyways and your family and neighbours will hear you practise on your property, even with the supressor on. With the quietest ammo, the noise was so low that I feel fairly confident it wouldn't destroy your hearing, depending on round count. So if you have a private range and live far from your neighbours, then maybe.

The 33 round mag isn't all that practical. The gun gets awkward to handle, it's not as easy to remember how many shots you have left, and really 17 rounds is plenty on the range. Usually I loaded only 5 at a time and in competitions there were round limits. The 33 round mag was reliable enough, but I have a suspicion that over time it may not be. If you think about it, how often will you shoot 33 rounds in one "inning" at the range, without checking your target? And wouldn't it be better (if you are allowed to carry) to have a gun you can take with you, with 17 rounds, than a 33 round one in your car? Anyhow, I think the best use for it is with a carabine conversion kit of some sort as that won't negatively affect handling. I sold both the 33 rounder and the supressor, and didn't miss any of them for even a second. Then later I also sold my pistol.

Not to try to ruin the thread or anything.

My 870 shotgun was the same way. The high capacity tube under the barrel loaded to max made it muzzle heavy and handle like dirt, wanting to overswing past targets. A round or two less and it handled fine and still gave me a little extra firepower and a nice intimidation factor. Few things get people's attention better than racking the slide of a 12 gauge in the dark, I think it is like a rattlesnake's rattle. Even if you have never heard it before the hair on the back of your neck stands up!

The magazine was designed for use with the select fire Model 18, at the request of Austria’s counterrorism unit Einsatzkommando Cobra, part of the Federal Ministry of the Interior.

The photo is not my factory engraved Mauser 66 Europa Diplomat, but I have an engraved Europa Diplomat just like it in my safe in .243 Winchester. The picture is from an auction of one sold in 2011 of a .243 with another drop in .308 barrel. These were the first deviation Mauser made from the Mauser 98 action and are a telescopic action similar to a Blaser making the overall length of the rifle shorter allowing it to accommodate different drop in caliber barrels. Very rare in the U.S. in the engraved Diplomat model, but non-engraved Model 66s and 660s can be had on gun broker for $1200-1800. The deep etch engraving is all done by hand so no two are identical though they have similar scenes. This is an example of the the nicest porn I have in my safe, except the wood in mine makes this one in the pic look like a plain Jane. The figure in the wood in mine is stunningly gorgeous.

What? An HK 91 copy roller delayed action that accurately shoots 7.62x39 and utilizes AK magazines? Can't be..

PTR 32.

Heavy rifle with a heavy trigger, but a real pussycat to shoot.

My trigger is not heavy, just loooooong but smooth creep. I smoke 8" steel never missing out to about 250 yrds with a tiny Bugbuster 3x-9x scope. Very cheap battle rifle to shoot compared to my AR-10. They say the barrels are target rifled and after having numerous AKs and SKSs, I can attest it makes those seem like scatter guns. I might have gotten lucky, but mine is a keeper.

A customer dropped off this old SR9 for me to look at this weekend.

I think I am not going to buy it though. About 5 lbs heavier than I can tolerate. Almost pulled a muscle in my neck shouldering it. I know it's not meant to be shot off hand but I guess it's not my style.

On a serious note, I cannot imagine ever shooting any of these super magnums without serious hearing protection. I have shot and been around a 44 mag w/o a muzzle brake and my ear ache lasted 3 days. Never been fond of the idea that even for self protection in the wild, I have to choose hearing loss over loss of life. That being said, I still had a 44 mag in the sleeping bag with me in my tent during hunting season in the Rockies. Sure enough, had a black bear sniffing around my tent one night. His paw tracks in the snow went all around my tent. I guess the smell of burnt gun powder over the frozen coffee smell from the pot on the stove next me didn't qualify for dine and dash.
