Shaw breaks wet in rack 3 and leaves Filler jacked up with a very tough look at the one into half a pocket. the position was so difficult that I thought he might push out, but he played the shot and didn’t hit it well, selling out the one. The Americans try to jump on the opportunity presented, but SVB misplays onto the six. Bergman does well to pocket the ball, but SVB plays safe, leaving Shaw long but not snookered. Shaw tries the long bank and misses, but catches a break when he leaves just a bank. Bergman, one of the best bank pool players in the world, makes a fine shot and SVB must still pocket a missable nine ball. SVB makes it for a 2-1 lead. Bergman was certainly the hero in rack 3.

I don't ever remember them having the coach or other teammates allowed in the arena. That new this year?

Shane breaks wet in rack 4 and Bergman can see the one but it’s a toughie. Bergman hits a wonderful thin cut shot, narrowly avoiding a scratch, but giving SVB a god look at the two. The runout is completed for a 3-1 lead. Really looks like Bergman has found his top speed, and that’s good news for Team USA.

Perfect set from Shane and Justin to beat Shaw and Filler 5-1. The U.S. will need more of that, no doubt.

Filler is an ass. I don't care if you want to be a cheerleader, but if you can't acknowledge your opponent first before you start pounding your chest and gesturing to the crowd about how great you are, then you can go suck a tailpipe somewhere.

Guess Shane can suck some tailpipe too.

Filler breaks wet in rack 5 and Shaw must play a long two ball rail first. The shot must be hit hard to get anywhere near the three, and Shaw hangs it. Shane/Bergman run out comfortably for a 4-1 lead. On the hill.

Your stream is a little behind.

Bergman breaks wet in rack 6 and SVB will have to play the one rail first. Makes it and leaves Bergman a god chance on the three. The runout is handled flawlessly, and the Americans have prevailed 5-1.

Huge win here and the Mosconi has tightened up a bit, with Team Europe leading four matches to three. Best thing about this match was Bergman's truly exceptional play, because the US will be relying on it as the week progresses.

Our buddy Jerry Forsyth seems confused with the ç in Kaçi. He's pronouncing it like it's French. Albanian ç is pronounced 'ch' as in 'child.'

Match 8 is ready to go, and it’s Kaci vs Styer. Styer wins the lag and will break rack 1. He breaks wet but the position is a bit tricky. He has an easy one-three combo but the shape will be hard to get. Tyler pockets both the one and the three on the combo, possibly a slight error, but still has a look at the two. He overhits the shape onto the four and must play a safety, which he hits well. Kaci devises an exquisite two way bank cross table, and his miss gives Tyler a big problem. Tyler’s kick is excellent and leaves Kaci a long tough shot on the four, but Kaci makes a great shot and closes the deal for a 1-0 lead. Amazing rack for sure.
