BRW squares

I own two cues with rosewood points that appear to have mineral deposits that are relatively common in BRW. Occasionally, I see pieces of BRW available that seem attractive and that I would consider buying for a future build. If the rosewood in a finished cue is going to show mineral deposits, would the mineral deposits be apparent in the original square? Another way of asking the same question, if the square is clear. will the finished cue be clear of those deposits?

Not necessarily. Mineral spots show up at any random time in the cutting process. Chances are pretty good that if the square doesn't show any, then neither will the round. But it's no guarantee.

BRW is pretty porous and what you are seeing may not be mineral deposits but sanding dust that was not blown out during the sanding/finishing process.
