Does anyone know what method Karl is using on those rail first shots?
It's the third time I've seen him do it in this year's MC, and he's touching the cue to the rail and looking at something, and I haven't seen him miss one yet.

You go equal distance into the rail or rail top as the point you want to hit on the OB is off of the rail. That gives you the point to hit up the rail when looking from the cue ball.

Keep in mind that it is the edge of the CB that hits the rail & not the center of the OB.

Practice it a bit & you'll 'see' it.
