I receive this news with shock and sadness

Gary and I first met in Dallas at a time when I was
beating every road player who gave me the nuts

Gary didn't worry about me having the nuts as
he figured it didn't matter if I wasn't shooting
Gary could perform under pressure like very few
that I had known

He was right,he out ran the nuts and we both
got a good laugh out of my misery on that occasion

Today as his passing away comes to my ear,I am reminded
how short our time on earth is,and how meaningless
most of my activities have been

I had not kept up with Gary for the last year or two but I am
saddened by the loss of a
man whom I considered a friend

We often talked on the phone and traded cues and stories

My condolences to his wife and family

I share your heart sadness ,I miss Gary too

Dean

Sad to hear this news. He was a valued member here and I wish I could have seen him play in his prime.

That's the Gary I remember. He was a top speed player who preferred to stay undercover for most of his career, until settling in Ohio. He was smart enough to know the real money was in avoiding tournaments and gambling back then. I spent a lot of time around Gary, betting against him (with Keith and Louie) and betting on him against anyone else! He was a class guy and gentleman gambler who would give you a close call to avoid a hassle. He KNEW he would get the money in the end and he always did!

I was glad to hear years ago that he had his own room and was doing well. Couldn't happen to a nicer guy. Sad to see our generation slowly slipping away. I loved every minute I spent around all these guys (with a few exceptions of course ). They were my brothers in this thing we call Pool!

Had a few dealings with Gary, perfection every time.

Got to meet and chat with him at sbe, one of the NJ ones. Saw that he was scheduled to play Pete Tascarella; really wanted to see that match but got pulled in another direction.

He was always a real gentleman with me.

RIP Bushwacker.

Just got notification this morning from a Pennsylvania pool friends that Gary Nolan has passed away. I knew that he had been sick, but I did not have any further details.

Photo from 2005 Valley Forge SBE.

May he rest in peace.

RIP Gary Nolan.
I had a video of him playing Keith back in the days.
Grady did the commentating.
IT was rated X because it was not going to be released to the public.
Keith won after Gary scratched on the hill-hill game .

Bushwacker flew under the gun . Ambushed many good pro players it was told.

Sad news.
Gary and his wife were good people. I’m going to miss seeing him at Valley Forge. They were always happy and fun to talk to. Another great one has passed.
It’s a shame.
Rip Gary

Very very sad to hear this. He was kind, knowledgable, and funny here. May those he left behind find some comfort in knowing he was appreciated and talented.
