Here are some aggregate break statistics from the 2020 Aramith/Simonis Pro Classic 10-Ball event played at Racks on the Rocks in West Peoria, IL on October 7-9. PoolActionTV provided pay-per-view streaming.

This was a double-elimination event with 18 players entered. All races were to 11 until the final match, which was to 15. Ray Hansen and Jeremy Jones commentated from the site, and Mary Kenniston provided remote commentary. Alex Pagulayan won the event.

The stats are for the 7 matches played on the main streaming table on the second and third days of the event. I did not watch the 3 streamed matches on the first day, two of which involved a player who is not yet at a pro level. These 7 matches represented 21% of the total of 34 matches played in the event.

The conditions for the streamed matches included:
- Diamond 9-foot table with pro-cut pockets (4½" corners);
- Simonis 860 HR blue cloth;
- Aramith Tournament balls, with a measles (Pro Cup) cue ball;
- rack your own using a Diamond composite triangle, with the 1-ball on the spot (2-ball and 3-ball need not be on the back corners);
- winner breaks from anywhere behind the head string;
- all slop counts, except spot any 10-ball made on the break in a foot-rail pocket (did not occur);
- jump cues allowed;
- cue-ball fouls only;
- 3-foul rule in effect (did not occur);
- no shot clock; and
- lag for opening break.

The 7 matches (126 games) tracked were as follows, shown in the order in which they were played.

Thurs. October 8, 2020
1. Alex Pagulayan defeated Roberto Gomez 11-6
2. Dennis Orcollo d. Pagulayan 11-9
3. Tony Chohan d. Evan Lunda 11-3
4. Pagulayan d. Robb Saez 11-5
5. Orcollo d. Chohan 11-5 (hot-seat match)

Fri. October 9
6. Pagulayan d. Chohan 11-4 (Semifinal)
7. Pagulayan d. Orcollo 15-13 (Final)

Overall results

Successful breaks (made at least one ball and did not foul) -- 59% (46 of 78) for match winners, 58% (28 of 48) for match losers, and 59% (74 of 126) in total

Breaker won the game -- 71% (55 of 78) for match winners, 46% (22 of 48) for match losers, and 61% (77 of 126) in total

Break-and-run games on all breaks -- 21% (16 of 78) for match winners, 23% (11 of 48) for match losers, and 21% (27 of 126) in total

Break-and-run games on successful breaks -- 35% (16 of 46) for match winners, 39% (11 of 28) for match losers, and 36% (27 of 74) in total

Here's a breakdown of the 126 games (for match winners and losers combined).

Breaker made at least one ball and did not foul:
Breaker won the game: 52 (41% of the 126 games)
Breaker lost the game: 22 (17%)

Breaker fouled on the break:
Breaker won the game: 3 (2%)
Breaker lost the game: 3 (2%)

Breaker broke dry (without fouling):
Breaker won the game: 22 (17%)
Breaker lost the game: 24 (19%)

Therefore, whereas the breaker won 61% (77 of 126) of all games,
• He won 70% (52 of 74) of the games in which he made at least one ball on the break and did not foul.
• He won 50% (3 of 6) of the games in which he fouled on the break.
• He won 48% (22 of 46) of the games in which he broke dry but did not foul.
• He won 48% (25 of 52) of the games in which he either fouled on the break or broke dry without fouling.

Break-and-run games -- The 27 break-and-run games represented 21% of all 126 games, 35% of the 77 games won by the breaker, and 36% of the 74 games in which the break was successful (made a ball and didn't foul). The 27 break-and-run games consisted of 1 3-pack (by Pagulayan), 4 2-packs, and 16 singles.

Miscellany from the data for the 2020 Aramith/Simonis Pro Classic 10-Ball event:
[This relates only to the 7 streamed matches I watched, not to all matches in the event.]

• The most balls made on a single break was 4, done just once (by Orcollo). He won the game, but not by B&R.

• The average number of balls made on the break was 0.9 (this includes dry and fouled breaks). On successful breaks (made at least one ball and did not foul), the average was 1.4.

• 38% (48 of 126) of the games ended in one inning – 21% (27) won by the breaker (B&R) and 17% (21) won by the non-breaker. Eleven percent (14 of 126) of the games lasted 4 or more innings.

• 32% (40 of 126) of the games were run out by the player who was at the table following the break. These run-outs were:
- By the breaker after successful breaks (B&R games) – 36% (27 of 74)
- By the non-breaker after fouls on the break – 50% (3 of 6)
- By the non-breaker after dry breaks – 22% (10 of 46)

• The player who made the first ball after the break:
- Won the game in that same inning 51% of the time (64 of 126)
- Won the game in a later inning 16% of the time (20 of 126)
- Lost the game 33% of the time (42 of 126)

• The loser won an average of 5.3 games in the 6 races to 11 (excludes Finals race to 15). The closest match was one at 11-9; the most lopsided was one at 11-3.

• The average elapsed time for the races to 11 was about 93 minutes, or 5.7 minutes per game. The elapsed time was measured from the lag until the winning ball was made (or conceded), so it includes time for racking and timeouts.

• The race to 11 that was both longest in elapsed time (134 minutes) and highest in average minutes per game (6.7) was Orcollo d. Pagulayan 11-9.

• The race to 11 that was both shortest in elapsed time (65 min.) and lowest in average minutes per game (4.1) was Orcollo d. Chohan 11-5.

• Breaking fouls averaged 1 for every 21.0 games, other fouls 1 for every 4.5 games, and missed shots about 1 for every 1.5 games.

• About 43% of the games involved one or more safeties.
