I would like to make a public apology to Mr. Olinger for not getting his name right in the finals of the bank pool tournament at the Derby City Classic. I have never seen nor have I ever heard of Olinger and I believed I was told that his name was Bolinger, maybe not but I really believed I was told it was Bolinger. Danny corrected me about half way through the match and even after I was corrected I still referred to him as Bolinger at least twice after I was corrected. I guess i'm getting a little to old to do commentary and it really bothers me that I make mistakes like that. Mr Olinger played some great bank pool to get to the position he did and I butchered his name but his play in the tournament will not be overlooked, for that I am thankful and again I would like to apologize.

You are too hard on yourself.

Been watching Olinger okay at Super Billiards and other events for thr past several years. The man can flat out play. He's not just a barbox specialist either. Once you see how he plays, he is a hard guy to forget.

No problem, Billy.

Names can be confusing Mr. Incardona, or is it Mr. Incardone, Mr. Cardone? Will, Willy, William, Bill, Billy, Billiam, or Liam?

Think I'll just call you Pittsburgh Billiard.

There have been a lot of players over the years that appreciated it when the press made serious mistakes with their names, lol :D

It's the first mistake I've heard you make in 30 years. Billy, you do a superb job and outshine the competition like the old racehorse Secretariat. Not a compliment, just fact.

I appreciate all the support you guy's have shown me and I have a lot of pride in what I do with commentary, however, I am very embarrassed that I can't get names right it's happened more than twice. Mr Olinger played beautifully through the entire bank tournament and he certainly deserved better than what I gave him in not remembering his name. I'll try to do better but then again there's no guarantee, right Mr Brumberk.

Its a big man that calls himself out and apologizes. Kudos to you! I've like every match I've ever seen that you commentated by the way.

LOL, I am actually afraid of what might spontaneously spew forth from my mouth. I seem to have very little control over it. In fact, my employees used to call me Chris Tact.

By the way, I always look forward to Billy's commentary - he's the best.

Nothing but class with that post, as always Billy.

It's why I go by "JoeyA". People have butchered my name for decades.

I'm sure Olinger understands and I'm sure he appreciates your apology. He's a young guy who has lots of talent and will shrug this off just like a spanking.

Billy, you still got what it takes to do TOP NOTCH commentary! :yeah:

Dude, we all called you Cardone for the first 20 or 30 years you were around and then I found out your real name was Incardona. I thought that was a stupid name so I just kept calling you Cardone and so did everyone else. Olinger will make a name for himself in his own way and like you I like his style and his game!

Billy, you are the best commentator in the business, and as we can see in this thread, you are a classy guy, too.

Alex Olinger certainly made a name for himself at the Derby and I'll remember his name going forward for sure.

Finally, Billy, it was great seeing you an I hope our paths will cross again one of these days.
