The final match pitted Korean Haeng Jik Kim and Turk Lufti Cenet. An incredible start by Cenet, 4-0-17 put him up 21-1 after two-and-a-half innings in the 40 point match. Cenet, while having a second place finish and five third place finishes in World Cups, has never occupied the highest position on the podium. Kim had two victories under his belt and they came in back-to-back tournaments. When they returned from the break it was as though a switch had been flipped. Cenet made only 14 more points in the final 18 innings with 11 blanks. Maybe he was already envisioning the win. Kim kept grinding and wound up winning the match 40-35. He is incredibly calm during his matches but erupted after making the final billiard.
