Origin and definition of "Merry Widow" "Widow Maker" and "Plain Jane" cues

I was hoping to find clarification as to the meaning of the terminology relating to the terms below to help me identify styles of cues.

"Merry Widow" cue

"Widow Maker" cue

"Plain Jane" cue

I appreciate your feedback and any examples through pics of these
types of cues would be great.

Widowmaker is a term used for an extremely difficult ski/snowboard run.

Oh, you meant cues?

Merry Widow was an early 1900s Brunswick model...

The Merry Widow had no points/splicing in the butt. Some people mistakenly believe a Merry Widow is an old Brunswick with a secondary wood spliced into the front of the shaft. But many Brunswicks sold at the same time had spliced shafts, and a 360 is not a Merry Widow despite its shaft splice.

I think a Widow Maker is when you unscrew your cue and beat someone to death with the butt

In the logging world especialy tree fallers, when they stick their chain saw into a tree to fall it and a great big 'limb' falls out of the tree lands on their head and kills them, that limb is called a Widow Maker.
I don't have a clue what it refers to in regard to cue sticks, after 55 years of playing this game you would think I might know.
