Mobile Wifi hotspot in Vegas

Hi guys,

Quick question, my mom is on holiday in Vegas (we're from Europe) and she
took with her a device called a droam which functions as a wifi hotspot so she
can have internet access on her cellphone / Ipad when she's out of reach from
other wifi sources like the hotel.

Now, that device broke so she is without internet access on her phone and ipad
which is pretty annoying nowadays.

I know for example when you rent a car from Alamo that you can also rent a Samsung
device which is a satnav and also a wifi hotspot, but since she has a car it's a bit
overkill to go and rent one just for that device.

Do you know of any other place where you could rent or maybe even buy something
like that, preferably without also renting a car?

Spending some money isn't the problem, but on her own cell phone plan the costs
are $9 per megabyte so that's not really a viable option.

gr. Dave

p.s. Sorry, I just realised I posted this in the main forum....

Pre-paid cellphones and SIMs are available at nearly any convenience store. You can also check the local cellphone store for hotspots, if the convenience stores don't carry them.

If you don't mind buying used, check the local craigslists for listings. You may be able to buy one from a tourist leaving the US.

Hi,

I am sure they are, but very few phones have the capability to setup a hotspot,
and even then the Iphone for example send such a weak signal it's almost useless.

So, really looking more for something like this:
http://mobilewifi.telecomsquare.us/plans.php

But that exact one you have to order thru mail and she's only there until sunday.

Call places like Best Buy, Walmart, Radioshack. Tmobile stores may have what you need, also.

Thanx for the tips, bestbuy sounds good. Are they likely to also have a prepaid card so she can walk out with the thing working?
