That your opponent asked you if you threw the match ?
Here is what went down . I faced another 5 in 8 ball in a 4-4 race. I was up 3-0 then I just started shooting bad and lost 4-3.
About 45 minutes later I threw myself in 9 ball and the other captain throws the same guy I had played 8 ball against. He is a 6 in 9 ball though and I am a 5 in both.
He wins the lag and while I start rack in he comes up and whispers to me asking if I had thrown the 8 ball match. I looked at him in disbelief then quickly realized that I had dogged 3 easy 8's and could somewhat understand his thoughts.
I replied no i did not dump and when this 9 ball match was over he would have no doubts if I dumped it or not cause I was gonna curbstomp his ass.
He laughed and went to the head of the table to break. When the match was ver he was not laughing or thinking I may have dumped cause I won 38-32 in a 38-46 race.
I have got some issues going on with my 8 ball game I can't figure out. Things like the above match where I get ahead and just blow it ......loosing to low level players I have never lost to before.....dogging easy 8's or not selecting the right pattern.
I am not having that problem in 9 ball. Actually its just the opposite. I am playing better in 9 than I ever have and I have always played better in 8 ball .....until now.
