from Pool to Snooker!
Hello All,
Here are some photos outlining the transformation of my home pool room that was home to a Brunswick 9' Gold Crown III pool table and is now housing a refinished 6' x 12' English Snooker table, manufactured in the early 80's by Riley (Matchroom brand). This has been a project in the works for the last six months or so, most of it planned out in Vectorworks with lots of rendered views crreated in my spare time. Major room theme is colonial African with many appropriate elements installed and more to come. The table came out of Bill and Bilile's (an old pool room in MD that closed), sold to me by Rich Molineiro. It has since been completely refinished by Rob Kay of Table Tek except for all the pockets which I stripped and restitched myself. Cloth is Strachan 6811 Tournament Gold, Cushions replaced with Northern Rubber from England and the table looks and plays like new. I hope you enjoy the photos, more to be added as I have them. The one significant thing still to be done is a full wall mirror. This is shown in my rendered view but it's not installed yet!

It's about 850 sq. ft. There's also a big screen / home theater in front of those reclining love seats and an electronic dart board to the right. Also a 3/4 bathroom.

Thanks for the compliments, I'm really happy with how it is turning out. Once I get the wall mirrored it will look...twice as good?!
The iron, yes...That is a Dowsings English billiard table iron, used to lay the directional nap flat after brushing and blocking for a nice and fast playing surface. I have the 110v model for us on lower voltage! It works great, weighs about 10/12 lbs.

I've been making incremental improvements to my home room for 3 ½ years. Next month I'll replace the cloth and carpet and it will be complete (for now!), so I'll post some pics. It's not the most glamorous here but, as my wife says, it's a nice "Parent Cave" ;*)

My Billiard Room
Finished this just recently. All lighting is dimable LED, and in the billiard room recessed. I ran ethernet to the DVR for maximum bandwidth capability. Table is a 9 ft Gandy Big G. My friends seem to think the highlight is the two wall mounted cup-holder/stick-rests that I custom made.
