I would like to commend my good friend and fellow AZer Allen Baker for donating a pool table to a Houston area school. Allen is a very sporty pool player and all around good guy. He recently donated a table to a Houston school who was in need of one for a school program.
Its things like this that will get billiards moving in the right direction. No formula for a game, tournament or tour is going to be good enough if nobody cares. The best way to grow the game in my opinion is to get involved with bringing young players in to the game.
Recently I have been noticing more movement with the BEF which is a great thing. Earl Munson up in Dallas has been doing a great job with his program as well as Roy Pastour up in New England.
Hopefully the powers that be in the pool world will dust off equipment that is in storage and actively find ways to put it in schools and Boy/Girls clubs.
