There is only one thing they each need to do. Unscrew, pack up the cues and head straight to a doctor for testing of dementia or possibly an AA, or NA meeting.
Just kidding around.
Easy answer, Discuss the issue and if they can not resolve it, replay the game.
They are equally responsible for the mix up.
Maybe that will help teach them both to pay greater attention to what's going on.
