Cork Wrap Question

So I had a cork wrap put on my cue a while ago at the SBE. The wrap is rubberized cork, like in the attached example (not my cue - just an image from the web).

Somehow it is now coming slightly off - I suppose a cue repairman could re-glue it.

However, before getting that done, I wondered if anyone could compare the rubberized cork to full cork, as appears to be in the attached link:

I have a real cork wrap installed by Mike Webb over 20 years ago.
It's still tight....got a chip out of it from the pocket on a GC.

If I only used it on Diamonds, might last forever.

Back in the 70s, McDermott was known for the best cork wraps.
Don't know what they did different, but some players took their high-end cues there.

I've never had a cue with a cork wrap, but I'd like to play some with one. I think I would like it.
