I am looking at getting some wood that is not totally dry yet. Is it better to just let it dry the way it is or should I turn it round seal it and let it dry or the third option turn it round core it and let it dry? Thank you in advance, Dave

Hi,

Why not just by kiln dried wood and put it in your shop. Then you just let it alcimate for a short time and you can make cues.

There are some woods that they don't kiln dry because of cracking perpensity I think. Tulip wood is like that for example.

The wood is some Honduran Rosewood Burl. I am not sure how wet it still is as I do not have it yet. Just kicking the idea around as of right now. Dave

What, me worry?

A Ryobi moisture meter is under $40 and they work great.
All that nice wood you buy is worth far more. So is your rep. Why worry?

I'll guess the wood you receive is pretty wet. Just a guess.

How about putting it in the clothes dryer?
Or just out in the sun?
