I can't find any pictures of him. I think he might be the guy I'm thinking of. This man ran a nice room on the main drag in Alameda in the 60's. He was shortish, looked like a typical Greek or Paisano, mustache, maybe 15 lbs. overweight. I saw him a few yrs. later going around with Mosconi to his exhibitions as his moderator.

I'm not sure how the "styleid" got into your link, but it is "sticky" for me and causes the forum display to appear broken or at least different. I suspect this is what caused Jay's recent problem.

As for Hal, he was fairly tall -- nearly six feet? -- and not at all dark. I don't recall seeing him in the 60s.

The room in Alameda (CA) was probably Red Carpet.

So that's what it was - trying to see the pic and it kept changing the forum's "style".
