The 40-year-old from Spain is the 2017 World Pool Masters champion and is no stranger to the winner's circle. He will not go down without a fight and may snatch himself another almighty win. Spain must be proud of David's performance to date.

Some pool champions have winning streaks longer than others, and Shane is still making headlines today. The South Dakota Kid, as he's fondly called, is 35 years old, and like the Energizer Bunny, he's getting better and better and better. There's no quit in this American thoroughbred, and don't be surprised to see him holding the 2019 World Pool Master's cup at the end of today. USA, ALL THE WAY!

Everybody around the world loves Alex Pagulayan. The Filipino by way of Canada (dual citizenship) leaves everyone with a smile on their face at each event he competes in. Win or lose, Alex is pure joy to watch. He's 40 years old and shows no fear. Make no mistake about it, he can win this, and if he does, everyone in the joint will be smiling broadly, except maybe his opponent.

Alex Pagulayan, Klenti's opponent, is 5'3", and Klenti is 6'4". In boxing, that would be a 13-inch reach difference. In pool, though, height doesn't matter. It's all about the drive to win.

The 20-year-old Albanian is like a breath of fresh air in the pool world today. Though he has a snooker background, he sowed his wild oats at the age of 18 in the United States a few years ago, learning pool American style, competing with America's toughest action players, tournament soldiers, and all-around world beaters.

I know that Eklent Kaci is a living legend, and his prime hasn't even started to blossom. And let's not forget that he's definitely easy on the eyes for some of us railbirds. <3

From Greece, Alexander Kazakis is a professional pool player and oh-so-very humble. The former European 10-ball champion and regular 9-ball player was the number one ranked player by the World Pool Association in 2018. In 2016, Kazakis won the Kremlin Cup, without losing a game. I like his style, his tableside demeaner, and his game.

Matthew Edwards is the first Maori to ever compete in the invite-only World Pool Masters. Growing up in Kaiapoi, New Zealand, 31-year-old Edwards began playing pool at the age of 12 and hasn't looked back. He has won numerous national titles, most recently the NZ Open, and spends about a third of the year travelling the world competing in international tournaments. Such is his passion and dedication to the sport that when he's not traveling the country or the world playing he's at work selling pool tables and equipment on Auckland's North Shore.

Must be something in the water at Klangenfurt, Austria, or else 28-year-old Albin just has pool in his DNA. His older sister, Jasmin, is also a pool champion.

He's the 2016 WPA World Nine-ball Championship winner, as well as the runner up in 2014. He also won the 14.1 European championship the same year. Ouschan is a multiple-time Austrian champion in 8-ball, 10-ball, and straight pool. A man of all games, when Albin is in competitino, he always has that killer instinct written all over his face, striving for the win.

The don't come any more humble and sweet than Skyler Woodward from Paducah, Kentucky. The 25-year-old has been playing pool his entire life, reaching for the stars, and he made it. He competes at all top pool events around the world, and believe it or not, he's still getting better and better and better each year. The Sky is the limit, as they say. USA, ALL THE WAY!
