Ebony, my favorite but, I'm leaning towards purple heart, like that hit.

I thought you just wanted to see veneer stacks that use the colors in your sample.
I was surprised that I had one that nearly matched your color sample perfectly. And I have another.
This is the other one, but again is ebony into figured maple.

Yes, exactly, that is what I'm hoping for, alot of it.
I believe I'll go with maple for the forearm, I'd like to end up with veneers loaded with eyes.
Mr Webb gave a snazzy example. With white on the outside it helps set off the points in that darker forearm wood. White on the inside helps set off the darker point wood.
Good cue makers know how to set up the order of the veneers to work with the woods chosen. It can make such a dramatic difference.
Personally, I would suggest that once you have your ideas, you work with the maker and listen to his thoughts...maybe even give him some license in this department.

The rings are 8 slot micarta .035 wide with .030 black and .015 white on both sides.
Because you like Purple heart, you may want to consider switching the purple veneer with burgandy.
