You'll never get better...

It only applies to lesser skilled players, whom the people giving the advice, want to rob. Playing for money won't make you shoot straighter. Practising and taking the game seriously will. If you need an extra incentive, and some pressure on you, play tournaments. That way you'll get everyones best game too. Best of all, you won't lose a years salary doing it.

Bingo! Many thanks!

It's just another pool myth.

I know a guy here in Phx that used to play on the tour, is still rated a 10 minus 1 (no idea what his Fargo is), and because of his strong Christian beliefs, has never gambled over a single game.

You want to get better you just have to self-analyze your game and play the best players you can find. Keep adding skills to your bag and put the pressure on yourself to be better and you get better.

People say they want to get better, they should know the easiest way is to practice what you not good at. Be it banking, kicking, breaking, Cueball control, etc?

Bad new is most people say practice is born, or they just talk about doing it some day.

Most people who do anything well, work hard at what they want to be great at.
