What tournament would you guys consider the best to watch in person? From the videos I have watched, the DCC seems the best but wanted to know what you guys. Thanks. Charles

The Mosconi Cup is tops. It provides drama and energy unmatched in any pool event I've ever attended.

I would agree about the drama and excitement. I should have been a little more descriptive. I mean how close you can get to watch. I would really like to watch the best play up close. Thanks for the response.

DCC is the best event for spectators in my opinion. You have every type of seating imaginable and hundreds of different matches to sweat every day. Its very unique. You can sweat most of those sitting right behind a player

Agreed that Turning Stone qualifies as a tournament in which you can most easily watch the players from very close up and there's no charge for seats.

That said, however, the quality of the pool is better at Derby City and several disciplines are contested, but you'd have to pay for the best seats.

Are you there just to watch or want something else to do? DCC is probably overall the most fun over the event, a lot of stuff happening. SBE is also good, pro event there for 10 ball (I am guessing it will be there again next time) and a lot of vendors, side events, amateur tournament that costs about what event entry is for the week.

If it was something I wanted to cheer players on and just a tournament then I'd go with Mosconi Cup.

I agree that DCC is the best bang for the buck as a spectator.
...and some US Open 9-balls have been exciting.
But SJM has an excellent point...lotta factors make it extreme pool entertainment....
...I was glued to the stream for the last one...and that’s as a Canuck....
...Americans or Euros had to be freaking.

Not a tournament, but the best money match I saw was TRex and Dennis the first time...
....when Tony won 40-38....there has to be dull moments in a one-hole match race to 40...
....but I can’t remember one.

I am only interested in watching as close as possible. I’m not really looking for anything else.

If you have any interest in 14.1, then Peter Burrows' American 14.1 Straight Pool Championship is the place. Table side seating to just about every match - even the finals. Total cost $0.

UK based, so limited options, but have been to the masters, world cup and mosconi, as well as lots of snooker tournaments. From that selection, Mosconi was my favorite when it was at Blackpool, but the recent 2 in London were also good. Blackpool Mosconi comes second only to the World Championship Snooker at the Crucible when it goes down to single table set up from the semis onwards. Very different though, Crucible is quiet excitement whereas Mosconi was more raucous.

I went to the Derby City Classic 2019. Couple things I did not like about it. It is held at a Casino that is out in the boondocks so that if you do not have a car, you are forced to eat at the Casino. The food was not good and very expensive. Second, seating is very limited so you must stand in order to see. If you buy a reserved ticket to the T.V. table, your chair has your name on it on the back of the chair so others can not see it so they sit in your chair and you must find a vacant chair. I have no problem with doing it but for the finals I did not want to cause a scene and found a chair in not such a desirable location that I paid for. But after the dust settles, I did enjoy the tournament for the most part.
