I knew george Fels ,and he was a great
voice for pool,
wrote so many nice articles and a great book on "Mastering Pool"
When Barry first got into making pool cues,not too long after Gus
passed away,there was a certain element of people who ran his cues
down saying he was living off his fathers name and that Barry had no talent
I mentioned this to George,he examined some of barry's work and wrote
a nice article with complimentary words,16 people ordered Barry szamboti cues
based on the words and as they say,that is the rest of the story
Barry told me that the criticism was unfounded,he would have done just as good if his father was
George Balabushka. Barry Balabushka?
Barry has a great sense of humor,he realized his name got his work in front of the public,
he loved his fatherand was afraid of damaging his reputation. I think Barry's work has equaled his fathers and I hope my children remember with with the same love.
