Well my problem is the News Media is putting out a lot of bad information. People are getting 'Covid - 19, but the Majority are recovering. Non of the positive information is being reported.

We have real problem that have been going on in the USA for a long time.

Diabests is out of control, it is a terrible progressive disease. The complications are loss of sight, heart disease, amputation of toe, feet, and legs. Renal failure, and that will get you on a Dyalisis machine. Not a good thing.

Obesity is another disease hat is out of control. When I was young a XL or XXL shirt was a large size. Now you have 6 & 7 XL in many stores for sale. O art the tent makes business is booming--------joke.

When is the last time we saw an effort to educate people about the dangers of Diabetes. The VA is trying, they are trying to educate their Veterans.

Drunk Driver kill or injury people daily, this is a big problem. In my State if get as DUI, you get an Interlock Starter Device on you vechicle.

There is a laundry list of other problems facing the USA, but few people are actually doing much about it.

We have allowed our jobs to be exported, and the we is the people in Washington D.C., Congress, previous Admisistration, and the PAC, Special Intrest, and Lobbiests. Cheap labor = Highter Corporate profits.

We have lost more than 2 VietNams of people in the last 4 months. Based on the success in Europe, Japan, and S. Korea, 70% of them could have been saved.

Guess which political side is helping big business make more money exporting your neighbors job? while lowering business taxes? paying companies that make billions in profits, billions in tax relief?

If we were to getting into a fighting war, we do not have the capacity to smelt lead for batteries or bullets, most of the ingredients for our drugs come from overseas, most of the factories that built WW2 are no longer situated in this country,...

Scientist are just guessing, and speculating. As there was no writing word back then, and Dinosaurs did not write about their lives.


FYI the series Jurassic Park is all fiction, inspired by fiction book. They did n it really make new Dinosaurs.

BTW I will be out as the sun rises in the East in the early am, on my racing bicycle, no mask. I never get complains from the Quail, Coyotes, Lizards, Rabbits, or occasional Road Runner the Bird not the Plymouth. The wild life is not wearing masks.

Talking to a kid/third or 4th generation large farm recently which he is now in charge of.. He mentioned feeding cows straw. My head must have jerked up, looked at him funny. He may have been pulling my leg, but the response was "yeah, when they are not producing in between pregnancies. It's like feeding rice if they were people. Makes them feel full, but no calories or weight gain".

I laughed too & said, I get it. I've eaten rice all my life for that same reason. Never though others considered it too. He's about 6' -5 & maybe 180/190. I'm 6-0 & still 159 - 160 in the summer. (gain about 5 lbs every winter).

Point being, some of the foods you mention as bad, are only bad in the context of "Fully processed branded packaged food-like products" If you eat riceroni or minute rice, it is a hit of pure processed starch with none but added nutrients or vitamins. If you buy real rice in bulk: brown, red, black & esp wild (which is not really in the rice family) it has a lot of nutrients, loads of fiber, and takes enough energy to digest out the starch, that is is actually a good thing to eat. Same with a number or other whole grains. It is the fully processed stuff that kills people.

Corn syrup is the ubiquitous diabetes producer. It's put in almost all processed and "manufactured" food-like products. & it's addictive. When you don't get it, your food does not taste "right" so you look for (so called) foods that have it and eat in places that the sauces come loaded with it.

RE the OP. I could almost see that due to video games and online poker, pool could become a sport sort of like bocce or curling or aviation. Could become ever more of an old man's game. Very few will be exposed to it at relatively early age if it disappears from bars or college rec rooms. It takes expensive dedicated space and somewhat expensive equipment so as we are seeing, even the current commercial model only supports "pool halls" in very limited socio-economic areas. As a newbie, it can be easy to feel overwhelmed when starting & have minimal inspiration for more than sporadic attention, if there is not some support or competition. People live in ever smaller spaces with ever fewer amenities. If C-19 really does close a significant number of venues that currently have tables, the decline could be steep within a few more years as our generation also ages out (dies off).

I agree with those that say leagues are the best current hope. There's enough profit motive for the promoters to keep it going, and the social - competitive model keeps many coming back and even bringing friends.

From a point of personal responsibility, each of us should commit to doing what we can to leave our houses with our pool tables, hopefully as a temptation to following generations. :smile:

What he is responsible for is his inaction to do much at all about saving as many lives as possible starting back in March or earlier. It's not fake news if it's coming from his mouth. How many times has he told you this will "magically disappear"? Those are his words from his mouth. Not some made up journalist story.
