Oak Willie Hoppe Titlist 21

Hey All,

New to the site. I found a Brunswick Willie Hoppe Titlist 21 tucked behind a closet door frame in my new home.

Based on what read on the forum threads, it looks like the Brunswick Titlist cue would been made between the 40's and 50's, and they are sought after for custom cue conversions these days.

Curious if any know more about my find and would be willing to share?

Thanks!
KJ

That's a good candidate for conversion.
21 oz and thick. 19 and under are a little thin in the middle.
That one is definitely has potential.

Brazilian Rosewood kind are the most sought after though.

Ah very interesting, thanks for the details. Any chance you'd know how much a conversion typically costs? Considering a restoration just for fun.

Thanks for the information everyone, I've received some good interest for the pool cue. I'm not 100% sure about it's value, considering listing it on Ebay. If I do, I'll be sure to share the link here.

I have a BRW Titlist with the most amazing figure and color. I think it would take a seasoned cue maker to convert. Its a little rough but its got good bones, I don't have the experience to try it myself even though I have converted a few cues. Absolutely a stunning cue.

I have also seen a few Oak Titlists converted and they are badass.

Sweet score.

Crazy though...you like pool and found a gem placed by someone else?

Am I reading that right?

What a find! Oak Titlists are awesome. Looks like yours might have some good color left on those veneers with a little light sanding. Here’s mine:

Yes I like pool, but I'd honestly consider myself more of a casual player. My home dates back to the 50s, and I discovered the cue in my hallway closet. It was tucked really well behind the door frame and appears to gone unnoticed by all of the previous home owners. Pure luck!

Absolutely! Ebony and Oak seem the be the most rare, with Brazilian Rosewood next. They also exist in Goncalo Alves, Purple Heart, Red Palm, Walnut, and others.

I've bumped the listing to start tonight at 6:00pm PST, so the link will be active at that time.

Apparently Ebay no longer shows scheduled listings publicly until their posted.
