I have seen many that were a lot worse. NO FILE on my Ivory ferrule please! I did not see a price?

It is a form of "ball turning" or "radius turning" attachment, They are a fairly common extra on metal lathes, often home built (mine is ) but there are lots of commercial ones. Here are a bunch of examples:

i did not know that. unique lathes like cue companion seem to be using the same. this type of collet ruins the shafts?
