How Would You Play This? Safety Time

I set this up again in the poolroom last night. It took me a few tries to get a legal hit. I managed to clip the 1 going two rails. That said, it's not "the perfect safety". A hit *does* exist but, given the difficulty of executing the safety is very low and getting a legal hit is very high, it's worthy on any level. I even discussed the shot with a pro-level player and he agreed that it's a very solid choice.

Regardless, the point of the thread was to illustrate a safety where it would be easy to evaluate what your opponent's kick options were and take advantage of the information. So often, when performing safes, we focus on freezing-up on a ball without much thought given to how our opponents will respond.

Yes, there is a 2 or 3 rail kick but if you have your opponent on 2-fouls, jacked-up over a ball and kicking 2 rails with spin, you're definitely going to see more positive results than not no matter who you're playing.
