If you tolerate this, then your children will be next.

I have never quoted someone in my signature....but I found such a shallow idiotic comment like this worthy!

They are violent everywhere.

The far left are loons who are unable to control their emotions or actions.

This kid will probably be rewarded at home. At 17, would you have considered slapping an egg on the head of a public official? On a 69-year guy? I can't say I was raised well, but I knew better than that.

I really wish those guys hadn't pulled the "old man" off that kid. They robbed the kid of a valuable life lesson. Worse, NO CHARGES were filed.

Sad ain't it but look at the political atmosphere of ass wipe politicans today especially in other countrys...Most are pinko bastards that hate us...bad examples for the young just like the pinkos sticking it in our ass here, but mind you of course we have our own breed of contempt here but just like there its becoming a nightmare especially from the left ...

We live in an ever changing world and with time differences etc what I post now be out of date before anyone in USA reads it......but I don't think it can yet be taken that no charges will be filed. As you know Alan, charges aren't always filed instantaneously. Certainly no charges have been filed...... "yet"...….and the teen was released pending completion of investigations.

The police have said that they are investigating the incident "in its entirety" to determine whether any charges are appropriate. From that terminology I'd guess those investigations probably include the actions of the 17 year old, Mr Anning, the people who wrestled the teen to the ground etc...….and presumably anything else relevant that they might be aware of having happened after what we have seen so far.

This post is only about the subject of the situation as regards "charges", nothing else.

The first article I read said no charges would be filed. I should know better. It either inaccurate reporting or misreading by me. I can't find the article, so I'll take the hit. I now see that the matter isn't complete. I agree with you.

I now see the boy has a GoFundMe site to help pay for his legal expenses. I also see that not only are people contributing, they are commenting with support of his action.

The boy should have received an immediate straight right instead of a slap.

What was Robin doing in Australia and why did he have an egg in his hand at a press conference?

No hit intended from here

I did see early reports that he was 'released without charge' which at that time would have been open to interpretation as "won't be charged", especially on a quick read. Police probably felt that needed clarifying hence their announcement that investigations were continuing.

I don't think egg-boy will be charged, though the egging is technically assault. I have a feeling that even Anning will simply want this matter to go away. Re potential charges related to Anning's response....first punch is probably understandable and justifiable (surprise attack, didn't know it was just an egg etc etc)…..second punch is probably technically assault under Aussie Law's approach to self defence (ought to have been obvious to Anning by that stage the 'attacker' was a juvenile filming Anning's response on his phone as opposed to continuing the attack etc etc). But I don't think he'll be charged either.

The bystander 'tough-guy' who aimed a sly kick at egg-boy after others already had him in a restrained headlock on the ground probably also technically committed an assault. I think he makes it a trio who hypothetically 'could' be charged but won't actually be charged for anything we have seen on video. Obviously other things that we haven't seen might also have happened later on, so I'd keep an open mind on that in case any of that leads to charges against anyone.

Arguably despite his understandable surprise, it seems to me Anning was foolish to make the second swing. He should have known you can't ever look good punching a small, young-looking juvenile a second time when at that stage he was apparently doing nothing more threatening than filming you on his phone. Egg-boy's obviously a brat who will probably now become more of a brat due to some unwarranted positive hero-style publicity in support of him. I'd bet large the sly kicker is the kind of pussy that none of us would want to have a drink with. Judgemental of me?....yep. Realistic?.....I think so.

To anyone genuinely viewing this objectively by totally setting aside their own views of Anning's or the boy's (and his supporters') choice of politics, it should be obvious that almost everyone involved has painted themselves to some degree in a bad light.

It's Australia at the end of the day. I have visions of a Crocodile Dundee accented commentator saying something along the lines of.... "Look cobber. Anning's an arse. The boy's an arse. Nobody died. Justice was served. Fair Dinkum......now never mind all that handbags at 20 paces shit, pass me a tinny rom the fridge and get me the damn cricket score"

That would be the rational result.
The irrational part of me would like to see a cage fight.
